50 Year Old Chip and Dale Costume Character Training Video Has Surfaced
Have you ever wondered what being a costumed character was like 50 years ago? Wonder no more. A leaked 1976 Disneyland training video will teach you how to properly portray Chip or Dale at Disneyland Park.
The video was posted on X by Nick Chappell.
It’s also available on YouTube.
Helpful tips and directions were provided, like
Hang your costume up or set it on a chair or table.
Hang up your costume before smoking, eating, or drinking.
Don’t Talk!
Stop in open areas where children can surround you and keep the pushing and crowding to a minimum.
Don’t stand near breakable or fragile items because the costume impairs your vision and could cause an accident. (translation- Don’t break the merch).
Don’t handle objects of value like cameras, purses, and shopping bags because they can be easily dropped and broken. (They probably don’t want you accused of stealing valuables.) No sticky-fingered chipmunks!
Kids may give you a pat on the back or a punch. (So take it.)
If you have a mishap, leave the area, and inform a supervisor immediately (stop and run away from the angry guest.)
Remember Chip and Dale are full of energy and love to perform (dance munkey, dance.)
Couple your imagination with good judgment around children.
I am sure there are many more rules in place now. More training too.
Some of those kids are pushing 60 now.
