Miral and Warner Bros. Discovery announced three Harry Potter lands for Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, targeting completion in 2029. It’s the first major Wizarding World expansion not run by Universal, and the first park to put Hogwarts and Diagon Alley under one roof.
Harry Potter fans have never been able to visit Hogwarts and Diagon Alley in the same theme park. That changes in Abu Dhabi.
Miral, the Abu Dhabi destination developer, announced with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences that three new Harry Potter lands are coming to Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi on Yas Island.
Diagon Alley, Hogwarts, and the Forbidden Forest will span roughly 63,000 square meters, or about 678,000 square feet. Construction is targeted for completion in 2029.
Universal isn’t running this one
Every major Wizarding World theme park land to date has been operated by Universal, from Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure to Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida to the versions in Hollywood, Japan, and Beijing.
This is the first large-scale Harry Potter park expansion that Universal does not operate, per Forbes. Warner Bros. Discovery owns the property and is building it with Miral rather than licensing it out.
You currently need two tickets to see both Hogwarts and Diagon Alley
At Universal Orlando, Hogsmeade sits inside Islands of Adventure while Diagon Alley sits inside Universal Studios Florida. Riding the Hogwarts Express between them requires a park-to-park ticket, which costs extra.
Abu Dhabi is putting Hogwarts Castle, Diagon Alley, and the Forbidden Forest inside one climate-controlled building.
That will make it the only place on earth where fans can walk between all three without leaving a park or the building.
The Forbidden Forest has never had its own land
The Forbidden Forest has turned up as ride segments and seasonal experiences, including Universal’s Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure and various Halloween offerings. It has never anchored a dedicated theme park land.
Abu Dhabi’s version will be the first.
The rides won’t exist anywhere else
Miral and Warner Bros. confirmed that all three lands will feature Harry Potter attractions built exclusively for this park, with ride systems designed from scratch rather than cloned from Universal’s installations.
Ride specifications, capacities, and formats have not been released.
What has been teased is a flying Ford Anglia. Promotional material featured Arthur Weasley’s enchanted car prominently, and early reporting suggests an attraction built around its chaotic flight, potentially involving the Whomping Willow and giant Acromantulas.
Fans have been requesting a Ford Anglia ride for years. None of the specifics are confirmed.
The park is growing by more than half
Total new space across the expansion runs to roughly 70,000 square meters, about 753,000 square feet, increasing the park’s overall size by more than 50 percent. Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi currently operates six immersive lands.
Two DC attractions account for the remainder. Kryptonite Collider sits within the streets of Metropolis, placing guests inside Lex Luthor’s Everyman Project, an experiment to give ordinary people superhuman abilities. Superman Up and Away adds a flying roller coaster, targeted for completion in 2028.
The Metropolis land itself opened earlier in 2026.
The park opened in July 2018 as the region’s largest fully indoor theme park, roughly ten minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport. It won the 2026 Liseberg Applause Award, becoming the first Middle Eastern park to receive the honor.
The same company is building Disneyland Abu Dhabi
Miral is also the developer behind Disneyland Abu Dhabi, announced in 2025 as Disney’s seventh resort worldwide, going up on the same Yas Island.
So one company is simultaneously building a Disney park and expanding a Warner Bros. park with Harry Potter, on the same island, in the same emirate.
Yas Island already holds Ferrari World, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, and Yas Waterworld alongside Warner Bros. World. Adding a Disney resort and three Wizarding World lands would give a single island a concentration of major theme park brands that exists nowhere else on the planet.
Orlando took fifty years to assemble that. Abu Dhabi is doing it inside a decade.
Opening date hasn’t been announced
There is no opening date, only a 2029 construction completion target.

Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Miral’s chairman, tied the project to Abu Dhabi’s broader tourism and economic diversification strategy, calling it a milestone in the island’s evolution.
Warner Bros. Discovery’s Simon Robinson described it as deepening the connection between the company’s franchises and its guests, promising environments fans will love for generations.
Neither said when anyone gets to walk through the castle.
