Aldi’s Merry Moments gingerbread village pieces cost $9.99 to $12.99 in the Oct. 7 Aldi Finds, and the same ad has $3.99 Mickey and Stitch Halloween Magic Ink and $4.99 Marvel masks.
Aldi is skipping right past Halloween to Christmas. At least in one aisle.
The Wednesday, Oct. 7, Aldi Finds include a Merry Moments gingerbread ceramic village. The church and the houses are $12.99 each.
The smaller pieces are $9.99. You can pick from a sleigh or a two-pack of reindeer, a tree or a nutcracker, and a truck or a train. A tabletop metal cookie-cutter figure rounds it out at $12.99.
How does Aldi’s gingerbread village compare to Pottery Barn?
Pottery Barn sells its own gingerbread village. Dengarden compared the two and found the same white “icing” trim and glazed ceramic “cookie” walls, but Pottery Barn’s prices start at $49.50.
That’s a big gap. One Pottery Barn piece at the starting price buys three Aldi houses, with $10.53 left over.
Dengarden says Aldi’s collection includes a church and five different houses. All six would run $77.94.
Some of Aldi’s gingerbread houses in past years had built-in LED lights that run on batteries. Aldi hasn’t confirmed whether this year’s do.
What Disney and Marvel items are in this week’s Aldi Finds?
The kids’ aisle has a few characters mixed in with the Halloween stuff.
Bendon Halloween Magic Ink, $3.99: Mickey and Friends, Stitch and Bluey versions, plus Beetlejuice, Hello Kitty and Paw Patrol
Marvel mask or cape, $4.99 each: Spider-Man, Hulk and Miles Morales
Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, so a $4.99 Spider-Man mask for the costume parade might be the easiest win in the whole ad.
What Halloween decorations are in the Oct. 7 Aldi Finds?
If you’re doing a trunk-or-treat, Aldi has $12.99 inflatables in dinosaur, ghost and jack-o’-lantern versions.
There’s also a lot of cheap party stuff:
Pumpkin carving and stencil kits, or sticker and paint kits, $3.99 each
Halloween magnetic building tiles, $14.99
Zuru Max LED pumpkin, $8.99
Tablecloths for $2.99, plus paper plates and napkins for $2.49
Lacura foaming hand soap for $1.99, in Haunted Harvest, Midnight Fang and Spooky Vanilla
Yes, Midnight Fang is a hand soap scent.
What toys are in the Oct. 7 Aldi Finds?
The toy aisle leans wooden this week, under Aldi’s Little Town label:
Wooden railway sets, $24.99 each
Wooden kitchen appliances or an activity board, $14.99
Wooden character sets for $7.99, including castle, picnic and pirate families
Wooden puzzles, $4.99
A wooden pirate family for $7.99 is about as on-brand for us as it gets.
Did Aldi already have Disney Halloween items this year?
It did. Aldi’s Aug. 26 Finds had a Disney Halloween collection, including a $9.99 Winnie the Pooh plush dressed as a pumpkin, plus Mickey and Minnie slippers, a Mickey pumpkin mug and orange mouse ears.
That was six weeks ago, so don’t count on finding any of it now.
When do Aldi Finds go on sale?
New Aldi Finds hit stores every Wednesday, and quantities are limited. Once a store sells out, that’s it.
Not every store gets every item, either. If you’re after the church specifically, check your store’s weekly ad in the Aldi app before you drive over.
Gingerbread showing up three weeks before trick-or-treat is very Aldi. The church just might not last until the weekend.
