Marvel Studios named nine stops for its Doomsday Global Tour, from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, but no dates and no cast. The "newofficial synopsis" fans are passing around comes from a $30 DK book that hits shelves Nov. 10.
Marvel Studios has a world tour for Avengers: Doomsday. It just doesn't have dates yet.
The studio named nine cities for "The Doomsday Global Tour" on Thursday, Nov. 5. It revealed them one at a time on its Doomsday Clock countdown, which streams nonstop on Marvel Studios' YouTube channel, The Direct reported. Marvel then posted the video on X with the line "The Doomsday Global Tour Is Coming."
The stops, in the order Marvel listed them: Las Vegas, Sao Paulo, Gold Coast, Rome, London, Seoul, Shanghai, Toronto and Los Angeles.
What's missing is the stuff fans actually need. "An exact date was not revealed," Laughing Place's Dirk Libbey wrote. Marvel also hasn't said which stars will show up where. ComicBookMovie noted some fans were already grumbling that New York and Paris didn't make the list.
Avengers: Doomsday opens in U.S. theaters Friday, Dec. 18. That leaves about six weeks to hit five continents.
Here's Marvel's latest spot for Avengers: Doomsday:
Where is the Avengers: Doomsday world tour going?
If the list runs in order, the tour starts in Las Vegas and wraps in Los Angeles, Laughing Place pointed out. The site said there's a "good chance" the last stop is the world premiere.
Cosmic Book News reported that the world premiere is expected in Los Angeles on Dec. 14, citing other reports. Marvel hasn't confirmed that date.
Marvel also hasn't said whether stops will include public fan events or how to get in. If you live near one of the nine cities, watch Marvel Studios' social accounts.
What is the new Avengers: Doomsday synopsis?
The "new official synopsis" that spread Thursday didn't come from a Marvel press release. GamesRadar+ and The Direct traced it to From Endgame to Doomsday: A Marvel Studios Visual Dictionary: Avengers, Allies, and Foes, an official DK tie-in book. Fan accounts on X posted the text.
The book costs $30, runs 128 pages and goes on sale Nov. 10, according to publisher Penguin Random House. So somebody got an early copy.
Here's what it says, in pieces:
The threat: "a new existential threat emerges."
The team-up: "courageous teams from three universes must come together."
The goal: "to prevent a catastrophic event."
The roster: the Avengers, the New Avengers, the Wakandans, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men.
The catch: They'll need to "put aside their suspicions" of each other.
The stakes: Their choices "will lay the foundation for the future of the Multiverse."
Five teams that don't trust each other, against Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom. Sounds like a family reunion.
How can Disney+ subscribers see the Avengers: Doomsday premiere?
By winning a contest. A Disney+ Perks sweepstakes open to Disney+, Hulu and ESPN subscribers sends a winner and a guest to the premiere, Laughing Place reported. The prize is a three-day, two-night trip to Los Angeles or New York City.
You can enter once a day until the morning of Nov. 19.
Is there an Avengers: Doomsday event at Disney World?
Yes, if you like body slams. WWE's Worlds Collide goes Avengers: Doomsday-themed on Tuesday, Dec. 15, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World. The first John Cena Classic happens there the night before and streams on Netflix.
Two-day combo tickets go on sale Nov. 13 at 10 a.m. ET on Ticketmaster, after a Nov. 12 presale, WWE and Disney said. Doomsday title belts will be sold at WWE World, WWEShop.com and select Disney stores.
In Disneyland Paris, Disney Adventure World just rolled out a Doomsday menu. It includes a Doomsday Burger with Doom's face on the bun at Hollywood Garden, Laughing Place reported.
When does Avengers: Doomsday come out?
Dec. 18 in the U.S., with Thursday shows on Dec. 17. Disney's El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood lists the runtime at 2 hours, 45 minutes, so plan snack breaks. The El Capitan and Fandango list it as not rated so far.
The El Capitan's opening-night and weekend fan events are sold out. Its Family Pack is $84 for four reserved seats.
The fast-food crowd is covered, too. We've already rounded up the Dunkin', KFC, Burger King and Dave & Buster's promos.
