The Savannah Bananas and the rest of Banana Ball will play the Banana Ball Open at ESPN Wide World of Sports April 15 to 18, 2027. Tickets go by lottery, and sign-ups close Oct. 31.
Mickey has a new uniform, and it comes with a banana.
Banana Ball is bringing all six of its teams to Walt Disney World for the Banana Ball Open, set for April 15 to 18, 2027, at ESPN Wide World of Sports, WDW News Today reported.
The league announced it on Thursday, Oct. 15, along with its full 2027 schedule.
Disney Parks marked the news with a video of players dancing with Disney characters. Dances and comedy bits are a big part of every Banana Ball game, so it fits right in.
Here it is, from Disney Parks:
What is the Banana Ball Open?
It’s a tournament in the middle of the Banana Ball Championship League season. All six teams will be there, and four of them will play for the title, WDWNT reported.
The winner gets an automatic spot in the season-ending playoffs, no matter how the rest of its season goes. That’s a big prize for a long weekend in Florida.
Which Banana Ball players danced with Disney characters?
One from each team, according to WDWNT:
Tanner Thomas of the Party Animals danced with Stitch, who wore a lei
Taylor Justus of the Texas Tailgaters danced with Cowboy Goofy
Caden Green of the Firefighters danced with Pluto
Malachi Mitchell of the Indianapolis Clowns danced with Daisy
Ashby Vining of the Loco Beach Coconuts danced with Minnie
KJ Jackson of the Savannah Bananas danced with Mickey, who wore a baseball uniform
How do you get tickets to Banana Ball at Disney World?
Through a lottery. Fans have to join the Ticket Lottery List at BananaBall.com before it closes at 11:50 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 31, WDWNT reported.
Signing up doesn’t guarantee you a ticket. Names get drawn at random before the event, and the league reaches out to the people it picks.
Standard tickets start at $35, and meet-and-greet tickets start at $100. There are no hidden fees and no tax, according to WDWNT.
In a world of surprise checkout fees, that part might be the most magical thing here.
What is Banana Ball?
It’s a faster, sillier take on baseball, made famous by the Savannah Bananas. Games are capped at two hours, and players work dance routines, comedy sketches and other gags into the action, WDWNT said.
Think baseball, but the players might break into a choreographed number between pitches.
Has Banana Ball been to Disney before?
A few times. The Party Animals and the new Loco Beach Coconuts played at ESPN Wide World of Sports on May 29 and 30, 2026, WDWNT reported.
Disneyland held its second annual Savannah Bananas Day on March 26, 2026, with meet-and-greets, dance numbers, merchandise and a special cavalcade.
The Banana Bowl, Banana Ball’s postseason event, streamed only on Disney+ on Oct. 10.
Is there a Banana Ball movie on Disney+?
One is on the way. The Banana Ball Film, a sports documentary, is set to debut on Disney+ in summer 2027, WDWNT reported.
So if the lottery doesn’t go your way, you can still watch from the couch.
Who are the six Banana Ball teams?
The Savannah Bananas, the Party Animals, the Texas Tailgaters, the Firefighters, the Indianapolis Clowns and the Loco Beach Coconuts, based on the players WDWNT named in the Disney video.
The Bananas are the team that started it all, and they’re still the big draw. The Coconuts are the newest of the bunch.
What is ESPN Wide World of Sports?
It’s Disney’s big sports complex at Walt Disney World. It hosts youth tournaments, college games and pro events, and the Atlanta Braves held spring training there for years.
A Banana Ball crowd should give the place a very different energy.
What else is on the 2027 Banana Ball schedule?
Lots of road trips. WDWNT posted the full list of dates and cities, and the Disney stop is the one with a playoff spot on the line.
Bring your dancing shoes. Apparently the mascots will.
