Betty Crocker frozen whipped toppings in Vanilla Bean, Chocolate Fudge, Salted Caramel and Strawberry Mist have landed in Albertsons-family freezers, just in time for holiday pies.
Your holiday pie just got some new options.
Betty Crocker now has a line of frozen whipped toppings in four flavors: Vanilla Bean, Chocolate Fudge, Salted Caramel and Strawberry Mist, Sporked reported. They’re showing up in the freezer aisle at Albertsons stores.
Fans first spotted them on Instagram in the fall, and many have been hunting for them ever since.
What flavors do Betty Crocker whipped toppings come in?
Four, according to Sporked:
Vanilla Bean, made with real vanilla bean seeds
Chocolate Fudge, made with real cocoa
Salted Caramel
Strawberry Mist
The Strawberry Mist name matches Betty Crocker’s popular Whipped Strawberry Mist frosting.
Where can you buy Betty Crocker frozen whipped topping?
At Albertsons and its sister stores. Product listings show the toppings at Safeway and Tom Thumb, both part of the Albertsons family.
Albertsons also runs chains like Vons, Jewel-Osco, Acme, Shaw’s and Randalls, so check those freezer aisles too. Fans without an Albertsons-family store nearby have been the most frustrated, Sporked said.
How big is a tub of Betty Crocker whipped topping?
8 ounces, or about 25 servings of 2 tablespoons each, according to Safeway’s listing. Prices weren’t listed online and can vary by store.
How do you use Betty Crocker frozen whipped topping?
Thaw it first. Safeway’s listing says to thaw the unopened tub in the refrigerator for about four hours, without stirring. Once thawed, use it within 10 days.
Then spoon or swirl it onto pies, cakes, brownies, sundaes, fruit or hot cocoa.
Is Betty Crocker whipped topping like Cool Whip?
It’s the same idea. Like Cool Whip, it’s a frozen whipped topping you thaw and spoon. The big difference is flavor, since Cool Whip’s main lineup is mostly plain, while Betty Crocker launched with four dessert-style flavors.
The Vanilla Bean version is made with skim milk and light cream, according to its ingredient list. It also includes corn syrup and hydrogenated vegetable oil, like many frozen toppings.
How many calories are in Betty Crocker whipped topping?
About 30 calories per 2-tablespoon serving of the Vanilla Bean flavor, with 2 grams of fat and 2 grams of added sugar, according to Safeway’s nutrition label.
The product contains milk, so it isn’t a fit for people avoiding dairy. Nutrition for the other three flavors may differ, so check each label.
Who makes Betty Crocker whipped topping?
The store listings name Peak Foods in Ohio as the producer, under the Betty Crocker brand. Betty Crocker is owned by General Mills, which often licenses its brands to other companies.
What pairs well with flavored whipped topping?
Plenty of holiday desserts. Try Salted Caramel on pumpkin or apple pie, Chocolate Fudge on brownies or hot cocoa, and Strawberry Mist on angel food cake or a slice of cheesecake. Vanilla Bean works on just about anything.
Will Betty Crocker whipped topping come to other stores?
There’s no word yet. Many new grocery products start at one chain before expanding, but Betty Crocker hasn’t announced a wider rollout. If your store doesn’t carry it, you can ask the manager whether it can be ordered.
What other new holiday dessert products are out?
Lots. Shoppers can also find Oreo’s Gingerbread Cakesters and Nestle Toll House The Polar Express cookie dough this season, and Pepsi has a Vanilla & Cream holiday kit with sugar cookie mix coming to Walmart.com on Nov. 19.
