Brightline will run a late train from Orlando to South Florida at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, after Halloween Horror Nights. It comes with a free shuttle from Universal and spooky snacks.
South Florida horror fans just got a ride home that doesn’t involve a four-hour drive at 2 a.m.
Brightline is running a special one-night-only midnight train for Halloween Horror Nights guests, Orlando Weekly reported on Friday, Oct. 16. It leaves Orlando at 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25.
That’s the night of the last Saturday before Halloween. The train stops in West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Aventura and Miami.
Riders get free spooky snacks and sleep masks on board, according to Orlando Weekly. After a night of chainsaws, a nap sounds about right.
Here’s a look at the Brightline ride from Orlando to Miami, from the Nice Work Pal channel:
How do you get from Universal Orlando to the Brightline station?
Brightline is giving riders a free one-way shuttle from Universal Orlando to its Orlando station, Orlando Weekly said. The station is at Orlando International Airport’s Terminal C.
The shuttle only runs from the park to the station, not the other way. So plan your own ride to Universal earlier in the day.
How do you book the Brightline Halloween Horror Nights train?
Look for the “Late-Night Train Icon” when you pick a trip for Sunday, Oct. 25, Brightline says, according to Orlando Weekly.
Book early if you’re set on it. A single late train on the busiest weekend of the season could fill up fast.
When does Halloween Horror Nights 2026 end?
Sunday, Nov. 1. This is the event’s 35th year at Universal Orlando, and the 2026 theme is the “Infernal Carnival of Nightmares,” Orlando Weekly reported.
The event has 10 haunted houses, a mix of original stories and franchise houses, according to Orlando Weekly.
Which haunted houses are new at Halloween Horror Nights 2026?
New houses this year are based on the movies Sinners, Hellraiser and Evil Dead Burn, plus the final season of Stranger Things, Orlando Weekly said. There’s also a tribute house called Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness.
That’s a lot of big names for one night. The late train means you don’t have to leave early to beat the drive.
Is Brightline still running after its bankruptcy filing?
Yes. Brightline’s parent companies filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in late September, with $490 million in new financing, Orlando Weekly reported.
Brightline Trains Florida LLC, the company that runs the trains, isn’t part of the filing. Brightline says trains will keep running normally during the restructuring.
How long is the Brightline ride from Orlando to Miami?
A few hours, depending on where you get off. West Palm Beach is the first stop heading south, and Miami is the last, so Miami riders are looking at a very late arrival.
For HHN fans who live in South Florida, that beats a late drive down the Turnpike after a night of screaming.
It could also save a hotel night. Orlando hotels near Universal get pricey on Halloween weekends, so riding home the same night keeps a little more money in your pocket.
What is Brightline?
It’s a privately run passenger train that connects Miami and Orlando. Service to Orlando started in September 2023, with trains running up to 125 mph on the stretch between Cocoa and the airport.
It has become a popular way for South Florida families to reach the Orlando parks without the drive. A train built for HHN fans is a natural next step.
Why would Brightline run a Halloween Horror Nights train?
Because HHN runs late. Many nights, the event goes past midnight, and plenty of guests drive in from South Florida for the weekend.
A train lets a whole group ride home together, sleep and skip the hotel. It’s also a way for Brightline to show off its Orlando service to theme park fans.
Can you take Brightline to Universal Orlando on other days?
Brightline stops at Orlando International Airport, not at Universal. From the airport, guests still need a ride to the resort, which is about 20 minutes away by car.
So this shuttle is a one-night perk. Don’t count on it for the rest of the season.
Just try not to have nightmares about the chainsaw guy on the train.
