Candy Cane Oreo Puffs pairs chocolatey Oreo cereal with peppermint marshmallows. The limited-edition holiday cereal rolls out nationwide in November, and some fans say it’s already on shelves.
Peppermint season is coming for your cereal bowl.
Oreo Puffs is getting a holiday makeover with Candy Cane Oreo Puffs, a limited-edition cereal with chocolatey puffs and peppermint marshmallows, according to Parade.
It starts rolling out at grocery and big-box stores nationwide in November.
How much does Candy Cane Oreo Puffs cost?
The suggested price is $4.99 for a 10-ounce box and $6.29 for a 16.5-ounce box, Parade reported.
Prices can vary by store, so your local grocery may charge a little more or less.
What does Candy Cane Oreo Puffs taste like?
Think chocolate mint. The cereal has crunchy, chocolatey puffs made with real Oreo cookie wafers, plus peppermint-flavored marshmallows.
A product listing on grocery chain Pavilions calls it a “seasonal treat“ with a “peppermint twist“ on the classic Oreo crunch.
Parade says it works by the bowl, as a snack, as a topping or as a mix-in for holiday baking. It could also make some festive marshmallow cereal bars.
Is Candy Cane Oreo Puffs already in stores?
In some places, maybe. The Facebook snack account Your Snack Dealer said the cereal was “already showing up“ at some grocery stores, according to Parade.
The official rollout is November. If you can’t find it yet, keep checking the cereal aisle over the next few weeks.
The account itself wasn’t sold on a cereal that tastes like a candy cane. But plenty of commenters were excited, with some comparing it to mint chocolate chip ice cream and peppermint mochas.
Who makes Oreo Puffs cereal?
Post Consumer Brands. The company makes Oreo cereals under a license with Oreo’s parent company, Mondelez International.
Grocery listings for the new cereal call it Post Holiday Oreo Puffs. It’s a sweetened corn and oat cereal, according to Pavilions.
When did Oreo Puffs replace Oreo O’s?
In December 2024. Post announced that Oreo Puffs would take over Oreo O’s spot on store shelves, according to Food Network.
The regular cereal has round, chocolatey puffs made with Oreo cookie wafers. It also has mini marshmallows that stand in for the creme filling.
What happened to Oreo O’s cereal?
They’ve had a bumpy ride. Oreo O’s first came out in 1997 as a ring-shaped cereal and disappeared about a decade later, Food Network reported.
They came back in 2017 during a wave of 1990s nostalgia. Then Oreo Puffs replaced them at the end of 2024.
Post didn’t rule out another comeback. “As for Oreo O’s cereal, who knows what the future will hold!“ said TD Dixon, Post’s chief growth officer, at the time.
What other Oreo Puffs promotions has Post done?
Fun ones. In March 2026, Oreo Puffs gave away a few retro mini fridges that pour milk into a bowl. It was for National Oreo Day and National Cereal Day, according to EURweb.
Candy Cane Oreo Puffs is the latest twist on the cereal. Since it’s limited edition, it likely won’t stick around long after the holidays.
If you’re a peppermint fan, grab a box when you spot it. Seasonal cereals tend to vanish from shelves once the new year starts.
How can you use Candy Cane Oreo Puffs for the holidays?
There are plenty of easy ideas. Melt butter and marshmallows, stir in the cereal and press it into a pan for minty cereal bars.
You can also sprinkle it over vanilla ice cream or a cup of hot cocoa. It’s a fun mix-in for a holiday snack mix with pretzels and white chocolate, too.
Parade even suggested it as a cereal for the Elf on the Shelf to leave for kids on a December morning.
