Magic Kingdom’s Columbia Harbour House is adding fish and shrimp platters, a plant-based crab cake sandwich and a reimagined Boston cream pie. Here’s what Disney’s photos show.
Columbia Harbour House is getting a seafood refresh at Magic Kingdom.
The Liberty Square quick-service spot will start serving three new dishes and a reimagined dessert on Wednesday, Oct. 28, WDW News Today reported. Disney Eats shared photos of all four on Instagram on Friday, Oct. 23.
Fittingly, Oct. 23 was also National Boston Cream Pie Day, WDWNT noted. Here’s everything that’s coming.
What’s new at Columbia Harbour House?
Disney lists three new dishes and one reimagined dessert.
Beer-battered Fish Platter (new)
Hand-breaded Shrimp Platter (new)
Crab Cake Sandwich, plant-based (new)
Boston Cream Pie with yellow cake, Boston cream and chocolate ganache (reimagined)
Disney didn’t include prices in the announcement, BlogMickey noted.
What do the new seafood platters look like?
Like classic fish and chips. In Disney’s photo, the fish platter shows thick golden fillets over French fries in a paper tray, according to BlogMickey.
The shrimp platter is a pile of breaded shrimp over fries in a similar tray. MickeyBlog’s Kristin Sabol called the fish “golden, crispy” and said the shrimp has “a crispy coating.”
Is fried fish new at Columbia Harbour House?
Fried seafood isn’t new here. The Mouse For Less, which tracks Disney World menus, lists a beer-battered fish platter and a beer-battered shrimp platter at $14.99 each.
PNP’s Oct. 8 roundup of Disney World price increases also listed a beer-battered fish platter there, up from $13.99 to $14.99. Disney hasn’t said how the new versions differ from what’s on the menu now.
The shrimp’s switch from beer batter to hand breading is the most obvious change on paper.
What is the plant-based crab cake sandwich?
It’s the new meatless pick. Disney’s photo shows a crab cake patty on a toasted bun with tomato, shredded lettuce and a creamy sauce, served with French fries, BlogMickey reported.
It’s “inspired by the flavors of a traditional crab cake,” MickeyBlog said. Disney marks it as plant-based.
The current plant-based option is a chilled hearts of palm and artichoke sandwich, according to The Mouse For Less. Disney hasn’t said whether the crab cake sandwich replaces it.
What’s different about the Boston cream pie?
Disney calls it reimagined, and the description is simpler. The new version is yellow cake, Boston cream and chocolate ganache.
In the photo, two rounds of golden cake sandwich a layer of pale cream, with a swirl of dark ganache and crumbs on top, according to BlogMickey.
The version on the menu now is vanilla cake with vanilla cream, chocolate popping candies and crisp pearls, The Mouse For Less lists. Fudge icing and a cherry go on top. So it looks like the popping candies are on their way out.
What else is on the Columbia Harbour House menu?
Plenty of New England staples. The Mouse For Less lists a lobster roll, maple mustard glazed salmon, a shrimp skewer platter and New England clam chowder.
There’s also a trio platter with fried shrimp, chicken strips and battered fish, served with hushpuppies. Disney hasn’t said whether anything else is leaving on Oct. 28.
Want a look before you go? Addicted to the Mouse reviewed Columbia Harbour House on YouTube in December:
Where is Columbia Harbour House?
In Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom, near the Haunted Mansion. It’s a counter-service restaurant with lunch and dinner, and mobile ordering is available in the My Disney Experience app.
The building got an extensive exterior refurbishment in 2024, WDWNT noted. More recently, a rusty post outside was exposed, then covered with a temporary topper.
Is anything else new to eat in Liberty Square?
Yes. Columbia Harbour House shares the land with the Diamond Horseshoe, which has a limited-time lounge menu this fall, BlogMickey noted.
BlogMickey reviewed it earlier this month and called the ribs a standout. So if you’re hungry near the Haunted Mansion, you’ve got options.
When can you try the new Columbia Harbour House menu?
Starting Wednesday, Oct. 28. Disney hasn’t said whether the new dishes will be available every day from the start or roll out over time.
Prices should show up in the My Disney Experience app once the items launch. For comparison, the current fish and shrimp platters are $14.99 each.
