D23 cosplay by three attendees captures the unique Disney KiteTails show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. They even re-enact the kite crashes that happened during the show, poking fun at the Walt Disney Company in a charming and amusing way.
D23 is the big Walt Disney Company fan event that takes place every two years in Anaheim, California.
Each year, the cosplay presented by fans is creative and amazing.
In 2026, three fans made an amazing cosplay of the defunct Disney KiteTails show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, including the viral crashes.

What was Disney KiteTails
Disney ran a watercraft and kite show from October 2021 through September 2022 called Disney KiteTails.
The kites had two shows based on The Jungle Book (Baloo, King Louie) and The Lion King (Simba, Zazu, Timon, and Pumbaa).
Watercraft would move around the water at high speeds to keep the kites in the air. However, when they came down, they would land in netting, the stands, or even a tree.
Like Baloo.
Hence the inspiration for this cosplay.
It’s a fun way to remember a very short-lived yet memorable show at Walt Disney World.
I love it!
