All eight couples have their Disney on Broadway songs for Monday, Nov. 2, from a Little Mermaid samba to a Hamilton paso doble, with Cynthia Erivo joining the judges.
Disney Night on “Dancing with the Stars” has its playlist, and it leans hard on Broadway. The eight couples left in Season 35 will dance to songs from Disney stage shows, or from Disney movies that later became stage shows, when the episode airs Monday, Nov. 2.
The show normally runs Tuesday, but ABC News has election night coverage on Tuesday, Nov. 3, so the ballroom slides up a day. It airs at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and streams live on Disney+, with Hulu the next day.
Laughing Place and Just Jared both posted the full song list Thursday, and it matches what Disney Food Blog published.
What songs are the couples dancing to on DWTS Disney Night?
Here’s every pairing, with the dance style:
Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach: “Under the Sea” from The Little Mermaid, samba
Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik: “Easy as Life” from Aida, contemporary
Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson: “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” from Mary Poppins, jazz
Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas: “You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly!” from Peter Pan, jive
Connor Wood and Rylee Arnold: “I See the Light” from Tangled, waltz
Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov: “A Star Is Born” from Hercules, quickstep
Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa: “Satisfied” from Hamilton, paso doble
Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy: “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast, quickstep
Two quicksteps is a lot of fast feet. “Be Our Guest” as a quickstep makes sense, since the song basically sprints. Hamilton as a paso doble is the sneaky pick. “Satisfied” is a song about wanting something you can’t have, and the paso is all drama and stomping, so Julia Stiles has room to act.
Team dances are back too. One team gets “Zoo” from Zootopia 2, and the other gets “We’re All in This Together” from High School Musical. Laughing Place said the team lineups hadn’t been announced yet.
Here’s last season’s Disney Night opening number from the official Dancing With The Stars channel, for a taste of how big these nights get:
Who is the guest judge for Disney Night?
Cynthia Erivo. She joins Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli as a fourth judge for the night. Alfonso Ribeiro announced it at the end of Horror Movie Night on Oct. 27.
The pick fits the Broadway theme. Erivo has a Tony, a Grammy and an Emmy, and Disney fans know her as the Blue Fairy in the 2022 live-action “Pinocchio.” Most people know her as Elphaba in “Wicked,” which isn’t Disney, but we’ll allow it.
Ribeiro and Julianne Hough host. Laughing Place reports Hough will also dance during the show.
Who is leading Dancing with the Stars Season 35?
Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson. They earned the season’s first perfect score, a 40 out of 40, for their contemporary on Horror Movie Night. That gave them 76 out of 80 across the last two weeks, per Deseret News.
Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy and Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov were tied right behind them at 74. Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach sat at 72.
The bottom of the board is where it gets tense. Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik had the lowest two-week total among the couples who stayed, at 60, and Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa had 62. Both now get big, showy songs, which could help.
Who went home before Disney Night?
Horror Movie Night was a double elimination. Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess went home, and so did Jackson Olson and Emma Slater.
Cameron’s exit was already a story. He walked off from the skybox after the results, then apologized on TikTok. Olson told reporters, “I wanted to be on this since last year,” according to Deseret News.
That leaves the eight couples on the Disney Night list, and the math gets tighter from here.
When is the DWTS Season 35 finale?
After Disney Night, the show goes back to Tuesdays. Here’s the rest of the schedule as reported by MEAWW:
Tuesday, Nov. 10: Grammy Night
Tuesday, Nov. 17: semifinals
Tuesday, Nov. 24: finale
So there are four shows left, counting Disney Night. Eight couples and four weeks don’t divide neatly, so another double elimination wouldn’t be a shock before the confetti drops.
If you watch live, set a reminder for Monday night. Anyone who tunes in Tuesday out of habit is going to find election maps where the ballroom usually is.
