Dancing with the Stars goes full horror movie on Tuesday, Oct. 27, with Val Chmerkovskiy back, a guest judge and a double elimination. Here’s every couple’s song and dance.
Dancing with the Stars is getting spooky this week, and it’s going to cost two couples their shot at the Mirrorball.
Season 35’s Horror Movie Night airs Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 8 p.m. Eastern on Disney-owned ABC and live on Disney+, Parade reported.
Episodes stream the next day on Hulu.
It’s a double elimination. Nobody went home on last week’s Dedication Night, and the hosts said the scores and votes would carry over, The Big Lead reported.
So this week, two couples go.
Here’s Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov’s Dedication Night routine, which topped the leaderboard:
What are the Dancing with the Stars Horror Night songs?
Every couple is dancing to a horror movie, or at least a movie with a scary streak. Here’s the full lineup, according to Parade:
Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik: Paso doble to “I Lied to You,” inspired by Sinners
Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess: Viennese waltz to Annie Lennox’s “Love Song for a Vampire,” from Bram Stoker’s Dracula
Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy: Argentine tango to “Uninvited,” inspired by zombie movies
Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach: Jazz to “Madness,” inspired by The Invisible Man
Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov: Argentine tango to “Perfection,” from Black Swan
Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas: Contemporary to “Cry Little Sister,” from The Lost Boys
Jackson Olson and Emma Slater: Contemporary to Frank Sinatra’s “That’s Life,” inspired by Joker
Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson: Contemporary to a cover of “Toxic,” inspired by Saw
Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa: Argentine tango to “The Dogs Attack,” from The Omen
Connor Wood and Rylee Arnold: Contemporary to “You Are My Sunshine,” inspired by Annabelle: Creation
That’s three Argentine tangos and four contemporary routines in one night.
Is Val Chmerkovskiy back on Dancing with the Stars?
Yes. Val returns to partner Jenna Dewan for Horror Movie Night, Parade reported. He sat out last week after the show suspended him for one week, as PNP reported.
Dewan didn’t miss a beat without him. She danced with Alan Bersten on Dedication Night and scored 37 out of 40, tied for second place, according to The Big Lead.
Who is the guest judge on Dancing with the Stars this week?
Shirley Ballas. She’s a ballroom legend in her own right, a former judge on Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro, and Mark Ballas’s mom, Parade reported.
That should make Maura Higgins and Mark’s Lost Boys number a little more nerve-racking.
She joins regular judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough. Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough host.
Who could go home on Dancing with the Stars?
Scores and votes from Dedication Night carry over into this week, so last week’s leaderboard matters. Here’s how it shook out, according to The Big Lead:
Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov: 38
Jenna Dewan and Alan Bersten: 37
Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach: 37
Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson: 36
Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa: 36
Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas: 35
Tatyana Ali, Jackson Olson, Connor Wood and Tyler Cameron: 32 each
That’s four couples tied at the bottom of the judges’ scores going into a double elimination. Fan votes still decide a lot, though, so a big fan base can save a low score.
Voting opens when the dancing starts and closes shortly after the last performance, Parade reported.
What happened on Dancing with the Stars Dedication Night?
Big scores, and no goodbyes. Glenn and Pashkov earned two perfect 10s for their contemporary, according to The Big Lead.
Tatyana Ali used the night to honor James Avery, her TV dad on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, as PNP reported. Avery played Uncle Phil and died in 2013.
Then the hosts announced that all 10 couples were safe. Julianne Hough said producers didn’t want to send anyone home on such a special night, according to The Big Lead.
That kindness comes due Tuesday.
Either way, somebody’s Halloween is about to get a lot scarier.
