No one went home on Dedication Night. Tyler Cameron revealed a baby girl on the way, Jenna Dewan scored a 10 without Val Chmerkovskiy, and two couples will be cut on Horror Movie Night.
Nobody had to say goodbye on Dancing with the Stars this week. But next week is going to sting twice.
The show’s Dedication Night on Tuesday, Oct. 20 ended without an elimination, TheWrap reported. Instead, two couples will be sent home next week, when Shirley Ballas sits in as guest judge.
It was an emotional night all around, with tributes to moms, spouses, a late co-star and even a whole country. Here’s what happened.
Here’s Tyler Cameron’s Dedication Night dance, from Dancing with the Stars:
Who topped the Dancing with the Stars leaderboard?
Olympic figure skater Amber Glenn and pro Pasha Pashkov. Their contemporary routine for her sister earned 38 out of 40, with two 10s, according to TheWrap.
Here’s the full leaderboard from Dedication Night:
Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov: 38.
Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach: 37.
Jenna Dewan and Alan Bersten: 37.
Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson: 36.
Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa: 36.
Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas: 35.
Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik: 32.
Jackson Olson and Emma Slater: 32.
Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess: 32.
Connor Wood and Rylee Arnold: 32.
Paralympian Ezra Frech got the first 10 of the season, from guest judge Kym Johnson. His dance for his mom, actress Bahar Soomekh, even brought his partner to tears.
Judge Derek Hough teared up, too, after Harry Shum Jr.’s foxtrot for Shelby, his wife and partner of 20 years. “This is what ‘Dancing with the Stars’ is all about,” he said, TheWrap reported.
What did Tyler Cameron announce on Dancing with the Stars?
A baby. Cameron, of The Bachelorette, danced to Ed Sheeran’s “Supermarket Flowers” for his late mom, Andrea, who died in 2020.
At the end, his fiancee, Tate Madden, joined him on the floor, and she revealed she’s pregnant with their first child, Good Morning America reported.
Then host Alfonso Ribeiro called for a gender reveal. Pink confetti fell across the ballroom. It’s a girl.
“I think my mom put Tate in my life for sure,” Cameron said during the show. The couple got engaged in August, GMA said.
How did Jenna Dewan do without Val Chmerkovskiy?
Better than ever. Dewan danced a Viennese waltz to “Unchained Melody” with fill-in pro Alan Bersten, and the pair scored 37, including Dewan’s first 10, TheWrap reported.
They’d only been working together since Friday at 6 p.m.
Chmerkovskiy was suspended for the week by BBC Studios, which produces the show, over a social media post about judge Carrie Ann Inaba. Ribeiro mentioned his absence before Dewan’s dance. The suspension covered this one show.
Did Tatyana Ali dance with Alfonso Ribeiro?
Yes. Ali’s waltz honored her late Fresh Prince of Bel-Air co-star James Avery, who played Uncle Phil.
She brought in Ribeiro, her TV big brother Carlton, to dance alongside her, TheWrap reported. She also danced to her own recording of the Nancy Wilson song she picked for him.
Judge Bruno Tonioli said it was “like watching an old Hollywood film come to life.”
Who joined Julia Stiles for her Heath Ledger tribute?
Her 10 Things I Hate About You cast. Stiles danced to “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” the song Ledger’s character famously sang to hers in the 1999 movie.
At the end, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gabrielle Union, Larisa Oleynik, Susan May Pratt and Andrew Keegan linked arms with her, looking up at Ledger’s photo, GMA reported.
Stiles called Ledger “magnetic.” She and Ezra Sosa scored 9s across the board for 36.
What’s next on Dancing with the Stars?
Horror Movie Night on Tuesday, Oct. 27, with two eliminations and guest judge Shirley Ballas.
The four couples tied at the bottom with 32 points will be feeling it. That includes Cameron, Ali, Olson and Connor Wood, who got his first 8s this week after fans said the judges were too hard on him.
Dancing with the Stars airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, and streams the next day on Hulu. Grab the popcorn, because it’s Halloween week.
