A train carrying Mickey Mouse now circles a farmhouse under the tree on Buena Vista Street, a week before the holiday season starts Nov. 13. Cars Land has a live artist, and the Coco ride site got new trees.
Disney California Adventure's 50-foot Christmas tree is standing on Buena Vista Street, a week before Holidays at the Disneyland Resort officially starts Nov. 13. Under it, a train carrying Mickey Mouse circles a little farmhouse.
WDW News Today photographed the tree Nov. 6, just outside Elias & Co. in front of the Carthay Circle area. It has vintage ornaments, multicolored lights, silver garland, gifts around the base and a white star on top. Disney's holiday media kit lists the height.
Cars Land got something new, too. A live artist now works at a corner table inside Ramone's House of Body Art. And over at the Coco ride site, crews appear to have finished planting trees along the sidewalk outside the park.
Here's a look at the holiday decor going up at Disney California Adventure:
What holiday decorations are up at Disney California Adventure?
Decorations keep arriving all over the park, WDWNT reported. Here's where to look.
Buena Vista Street: Garland with lights, bells and berries at Los Feliz Five & Dime, greenery and red bows on the lampposts, red poinsettias outside Elias & Co. and garland across the Trolley Treats balcony.
Shop windows: Santa writes down kids' wishes with elves at Big Top Toys, elves build toys at Elias & Co. and a Hanukkah menorah sits in the Julius Katz & Sons window.
Cars Land: The Radiator Springs Courthouse has oversized ornaments and a lighted wreath. A "Luigi's Joy to the Whirl" sign with Cars characters in winter hats is up near Casa Della Tires, and Flo's V8 Cafe got a sparkly red, silver and gold gas can on its sign.
Grizzly Peak: Red oars with holly and pinecones line Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. The two bear statues outside Rushin' River Outfitters wear holiday sweaters.
Paradise Gardens: Garland with colorful coral and baubles wraps the entrance columns at The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure.
What is the live artist doing in Cars Land?
Drawing, in public. The artist sits at a table in the corner of a room at Ramone's House of Body Art, WDWNT reported, and guests can stop in and watch.
That room has had a busy fall. It sells merchandise most of the year and held an ofrenda during the Halloween season. After Day of the Dead, Disney turned it into a gallery selling Cars artwork, including holiday pieces.
WDWNT didn't say whether the artist takes requests, what a sketch costs or what hours the artist keeps. It's also unknown whether the setup is permanent or holiday-only. We'd still ask for Lightning McQueen in a Santa hat.
Ramone's also carries the Cars Land Vintage Collection, which runs from a $5.99 postcard to an $89.99 jacket.
What's happening at the Coco ride construction site?
Progress you can see from the sidewalk. WDWNT photos from Nov. 3 show crews appear to have finished planting trees between the construction site and the sidewalk outside the park. One stretch of pathway was repaved, and another section is waiting for concrete.
Behind the fence, crews have dug more trenches, including two closer to the Incredicoaster. One runs behind the coaster, where more pipes seem to be going in. A truck delivered a load of green pipes, on top of the black pipes that arrived in October.
The untitled Coco boat ride is going up backstage between the Incredicoaster and Paradise Garden Grill. At D23 in August, Imagineers said the queue will start in Pixar Pier next to Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind and the story picks up a year after the movie.
Disney hasn't announced a name or an opening date.
When do Holidays at the Disneyland Resort start?
Nov. 13, 2026, through Jan. 6, 2027. In and around Disney California Adventure, Disney's lineup includes:
Disney Festival of Holidays: A mariachi show with Miguel from Coco, Mirabel's Gifts of the Season from Encanto and a street party on select days
World of Color: Season of Light: Back on Paradise Bay
Santa Claus: His meet-and-greet at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail opens Nov. 13, WDWNT reported, which is why the trail closed early to get ready
Holiday dining: Mickey's Christmas Carol Feast at Storytellers Cafe in Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Nov. 16 to Jan. 3
