Disney Confirms Guest Only Buses For Disney Springs Starting Soon
Disney really doesn't want people to have free parking
Yesterday, we reported that Disney would likely be shutting down the use of Disney Springs to Walt Disney Resort Hotel buses for non-resort hotel guests. Now we have confirmation that Disney is limiting the buses and shuttle boats to guests only starting on June 28, 2026.
Before boarding the bus or boat transportation from Disney Springs to a Disney Resort Hotel, Cast Members will scan MagicBands or cards to verify a valid reservation.
To take the Disney Springs bus or boat, you will need to prove that you have one of these things.
An active Walt Disney World resort hotel reservation
A confirmed dining reservation at the resort hotel
A confirmed recreation activity connecting at the resort hotel
For the majority of guests using the buses, this will not create an issue.
However, some are worried that Disney will stop allowing guests to hop buses from parks to resort hotels at some point as well. Many people explore and visit other resort hotels.
It is unclear if Disney will do this, but I would be surprised if they did. They don’t benefit as they do with stopping the Disney Springs free parking hack.
What is the free parking hack?
Disney Springs buses are complimentary for guests, and parking at Disney Springs is free.
People would take the bus to a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel and either connect to another bus, Skyliner, or Monorail, or walk to the theme park if it was close to the hotel. This would circumvent the $35-$60 parking fees.
Disney needs to ensure they get every penny.
