Disney’s biggest ship has spent its entire first season sailing in circles. On Dec. 31 it gets its first port of call, and the Wish gets New York back after four years away.
The Disney Adventure has never docked anywhere.
Since its maiden voyage on March 10, Disney Cruise Line’s largest ship has run three- and four-night sailings out of Singapore with no ports at all. Cruises to nowhere, entirely at sea.
That ends Dec. 31, when select four-night sailings add Langkawi, Malaysia.
Where is Langkawi?
An archipelago of 99 islands off Malaysia’s northwestern coast, nicknamed the Jewel of Kedah.
Guests stop there on the third day of the sailing. The rest of the itinerary stays at sea, so this is one port added to an otherwise unchanged format rather than a redesigned cruise.
Disney has announced four Port Adventures: Langkawi Highlights, which includes a cable car ride, Island Hopping boat tours with an eagle-watching component, the Kilim Kayak Adventure on the Kubang Badak River, and Colors & Crafts, a batik-making workshop.
When do the Langkawi sailings run?
Disney’s announcement covers select voyages from Dec. 31, 2026 through May 2027.
DCL Fan counts 27 sailings scheduled through the end of 2027, which would extend past the window Disney published. Treat the official range as firm and the rest as that outlet’s tally.
Fares start around $1,509 for two guests in an inside stateroom. Anyone already booked on a sailing that now includes Langkawi gets the stop automatically.
The Adventure carries 6,700 passengers across seven themed areas and is homeported in Singapore for at least five years.
Disney Cruise Line is going back to New York
The Disney Wish sails seven itineraries from New York City starting in late September 2027, running four to seven nights to Bermuda, Canada and New England.
That is Disney’s first regular New York season since 2023, when the Disney Dream ran a short stretch of Bermuda and Eastern Canada sailings.
The timing lands on Halloween. Halloween on the High Seas returns in September 2027, and several of the New York itineraries carry that designation.
How does the Wish get to New York?
By crossing the Atlantic.
The Wish finishes its inaugural Europe season first, then makes a 12-night transatlantic voyage from Southampton before arriving in New York.
After the New York season, it heads to San Juan for a November debut: a seven-night Southern Caribbean sailing on Nov. 5, then a four-night Eastern Caribbean cruise on Nov. 12 ending at Port Canaveral.
What else is in the fall 2027 and spring 2028 schedule?
Several firsts.
The Disney Destiny homeports at Port Canaveral for the first time, running three- to seven-night Bahamas and Western Caribbean sailings after opening its season in Fort Lauderdale.
The Disney Magic makes two 14-night Panama Canal repositioning cruises, each with a maiden call. Eastbound stops at Fuerte Amador near Panama City. Westbound stops at Colón.
The Disney Wonder stays in San Diego for both seasons. Very Merrytime sailings run November and December 2027.
Can you book these now?
Yes. General booking opened Sept. 8 on disneycruise.com, following early access for Castaway Club members starting Aug. 31.
The Disney Believe debuts later in 2027, and Disney has not published its deployment yet.
For anyone who looked at the Adventure and could not get past the no-ports thing, that objection has a expiration date now. One stop in four nights is not an itinerary overhaul, but it is the difference between a cruise and a very large floating hotel that moves in a circle.
