Want Hyperia City cards at World of Disney? You get one shot in the My Disney Experience app at 6 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16. There’s no standby line, and the limit is two per guest.
Lorcana players headed to Disney Springs this weekend should set an alarm.
Disney is using a virtual queue for Disney Lorcana at World of Disney on Friday, Oct. 16, according to its virtual queue page. Guests can request a spot once, at 6 a.m., through the My Disney Experience app.
There’s no standby line. If you don’t get in through the app, you don’t shop the event.
The date lines up with the pre-release of Disney Lorcana: Hyperia City, the newest set in the trading card game. It reaches stores everywhere on Oct. 23.
Here’s a look around the inside of World of Disney from Attractions POV, filmed in June:
How does the Disney Lorcana virtual queue work?
You request a spot one time, at 6 a.m. on Oct. 16. Disney says you have to be within about 45 miles of Disney Springs when you join.
Once your boarding group is called, you have 60 minutes to get back to World of Disney. Disney says it may not be able to take late arrivals.
There’s no need to race over at dawn, though. Boarding groups won’t be called before 9 a.m., and the Disney Springs garages don’t open until 9 a.m., LaughingPlace reported.
A few more rules from Disney’s page:
Each guest can request to join only once, using their own boarding pass
You can’t join as a party, and boarding passes can’t be linked or shared
Only registered guests can buy
The limit is two of the featured item per guest, while supplies last
Does the virtual queue guarantee Lorcana cards?
No. Disney is limiting capacity, and getting a boarding group doesn’t guarantee you’ll be able to buy the featured Lorcana merchandise.
Disney’s notice also doesn’t list the featured items, so you won’t know exactly what’s on the table until you’re in the store.
Update the My Disney Experience app and sign in the night before. Nobody wants to be stuck on a login screen at 6:01.
Is there a Lorcana virtual queue at Disneyland?
Yes. Disneyland is running its own at Disney’s Pin Trader in the Downtown Disney District, through the Disneyland app, LaughingPlace reported.
The only request window opens at 5 a.m. Pacific on Oct. 16, and you need to be within 90 miles of Downtown Disney. When your group is called, you head to Pin Trader and scan a QR code.
What’s in Disney Lorcana: Hyperia City?
A whole new city. Disney describes it as a place “where metro meets the fantastical,” full of street performers, shops and nightlife, BlogMickey reported.
Neighborhoods include City Center, Old Towne Hyperia, the Marigold District and a school called M.A.G.I.C.
The name honors Hyperion Studio, the home of Walt Disney Studios from 1926 to 1940 and the birthplace of Mickey Mouse, according to Disney Parks Blog.
Which Disney characters are new in Hyperia City?
Coco joins the game for the first time, with characters performing in the Marigold District. Pepita shows up in several fierce forms, and Hector Rivera got a card in the 2026 D23 Collection, Disney Parks Blog reported.
Big Hero 6 is in the mix too. Honey Lemon is researching ink drops at M.A.G.I.C.
Ink drops are the set’s new mechanic. They’re one-time-use ink that lets you play cards from your hand or power up other cards, BlogMickey explained.
“Ink drops can completely change the tempo of a game,” Ravensburger lead game designer Lukas Litzsinger said, as quoted by BlogMickey.
The rarest cards are the Iconic cards. They’re led by a Mickey Mouse card called Best in Town and a Cinderella card called Unintentional Icon.
That Mickey card debuted at D23. It’s a nod to the first word Mickey ever said on screen, “hot dog,” from the 1929 cartoon The Karnival Kid.
When does Hyperia City come out?
Pre-release starts Oct. 16 at game stores and select Disney parks and stores. The general release is Oct. 23, BlogMickey reported.
Has Disney Springs used a virtual queue before?
Yes. Disney Springs used one for the Six Ravens soft opening this summer, BlogMickey noted.
That makes this a busy weekend at Disney Springs. The Lorcana event is Friday, and Six Ravens has its grand opening on Saturday, Oct. 17, with a free collectible pin while supplies last.
If you’re planning to do both, you’ll want to be awake for that 6 a.m. request.
