ABC set its 2026 holiday lineup, and the Disney parks get two big shows: a Holiday Spectacular on Nov. 30 and the Christmas Day Parade on Christmas morning.
The Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade is coming back to ABC on Friday, Dec. 25, at 10 a.m. ET. That’s 9 a.m. Central and 5 a.m. Mountain and Pacific, so West Coast families get a very early Christmas present, or a recording.
ABC announced the date Tuesday, Oct. 27, in its full 2026 holiday schedule. Before the parade, there’s a second park special. “The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular” airs Monday, Nov. 30, from 8 to 10 p.m. ET and PT.
No hosts or performers have been named yet for either show.
What’s in the Disney Holiday Spectacular on Nov. 30?
ABC’s release says the two-hour special will have “new musical performances from Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.” WDW News Today reports that Disneyland Resort performances are part of it too. ABC’s own text only names Florida, so we’ll call California likely, not locked.
There’s a hint that the cameras already came to Anaheim. Disney Tourist Blog reported film permits in Anaheim for Oct. 23 to 26.
Last year’s version aired Dec. 1, 2025, and leaned hard on music. The 2025 lineup included Gwen Stefani, Trisha Yearwood, Derek Hough, Nicole Scherzinger, Bebe Rexha, Coco Jones and Iam Tongi, with footage from Walt Disney World, Disneyland and even Aulani in Hawaii.
Right after this year’s special, at 10 p.m., ABC runs the 1970 Rankin-Bass classic “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town.”
When is the Disney Christmas parade filmed at Magic Kingdom?
Here’s the fun part for anyone visiting Florida in November. Disney Tourist Blog reports that Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade will run in daylight at 2 p.m. on Nov. 10 and 11 at Magic Kingdom, in place of the Festival of Fantasy Parade. It’s included with regular park admission.
Disney hasn’t said those are the TV tapings, but a holiday parade in broad daylight in mid-November is a pretty big clue.
WDW News Today says Magic Kingdom has already hit its Annual Passholder capacity for both dates. So if you were planning to sneak in on a pass, that ship has sailed. Regular ticket holders can still go.
Here’s what one of those tapings looked like last year, filmed by Casey’s Corner Of The World:
Can you stream the Disney Christmas Day Parade?
Nobody has confirmed that for 2026. WDW News Today says it doesn’t know yet when either special will reach Disney+.
Last year gives a good guess, though. The 2025 parade streamed starting at 11 a.m. ET on Christmas Day on Disney+, Hulu and Disney’s YouTube channel, and it stayed up through Jan. 4, 2026, according to the Disney Parks Blog.
The 2025 parade was hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro and Ginnifer Goodwin, with Maia Kealoha as parade correspondent. Disney says the parade first aired in 1983. That’s a lot of Christmas mornings with Mickey.
What else is on ABC for the holidays in 2026?
The rest of ABC’s lineup, all times Eastern:
“Mickey’s Christmas Carol,” Wednesday, Nov. 25, 8 p.m.
“Mary Poppins,” Thursday, Nov. 26 (Thanksgiving), 8 to 11 p.m.
“The Sound of Music,” Sunday, Nov. 29, 7 to 11 p.m.
“CMA Country Christmas,” Tuesday, Dec. 1, 9 p.m.
“Die Hard,” Sunday, Dec. 6, 8:02 p.m.
“The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” Sunday, Dec. 13, 8:33 p.m.
“iHeartRadio Jingle Ball 2026,” Thursday, Dec. 17, 8 p.m.
“Father of the Bride,” Sunday, Dec. 20, 8:33 p.m.
“The Santa Clause,” Wednesday, Dec. 23, 9 p.m.
“Home Alone,” Thursday, Dec. 24, 8 p.m.
“Mufasa: The Lion King,” Sunday, Dec. 27, 8:32 p.m.
Yes, “Die Hard” made the list. ABC has picked a side.
Then on New Year’s Eve, “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2027” runs from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. on ABC. For the first time, it’ll also stream live on Disney+.
Why do people watch the Disney parade every Christmas?
For a lot of families, it’s just part of the morning. Presents, coffee, a parade down Main Street, U.S.A., and a pop star singing in front of a castle that’s been decorated for weeks.
The whole show is basically a two-hour ad for the parks. A pretty one, though.
If you’re in Florida on Nov. 10 or 11, you might even end up on TV. Wear something festive, y’know, just in case.
