Disney Store now sells a Disney Parks Monopoly with a pop-up castle, a $19.99 UNO tin and a deluxe game set with Mickey chess pieces. Here’s what’s inside each one.
Family game night just got a little more Disney.
Disney Store is selling three new Disney Parks games, WDWNT reported Saturday, Oct. 17. There’s a Theme Park Edition Monopoly, a Theme Park Edition UNO and a Deluxe Game Set. The listings went up on Disney Store around Oct. 12 and 13, according to DisMerchandise, a site that tracks new Disney Store items.
All three are sold online at Disney Store. WDWNT didn’t mention park shops, so don’t count on finding them on your next trip.
What’s in the Disney Parks Monopoly game?
A whole lot of rides. Instead of Boardwalk and Park Place, you buy attractions from Walt Disney World and Disneyland, according to Disney Store’s listing.
Those include Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Slinky Dog Dash, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. The Haunted Mansion and the Incredicoaster are on the board, too.
The usual pieces get Disney swaps:
The Disney Monorail and Disney Skyliner take the place of the railroads.
Toontown houses and castles replace the houses and hotels.
Magic and Fantasy cards stand in for Chance and Community Chest.
A pop-up Fantasyland Castle, about 10.5 inches tall, sits in the middle of the board.
The tokens might be the best part. They include a Mickey ear hat, a Minnie ear hat, a Haunted Mansion gargoyle, a Carrousel horse, the Millennium Falcon and a Star Tours Starspeeder. There’s also a gold-tone Partners Statue.
It costs $49.99 and is for 2 to 6 players, ages 8 and up. The board is 20 by 20 inches.
How is Disney Parks UNO different?
The cards look like a park map came to life. The 112-card deck shows Mickey and Minnie at Sleeping Beauty Castle, plus Spaceship Earth and the Hatbox Ghost, according to the listing. Pirates of the Caribbean and Lightning McQueen in Cars Land show up, too.
Then there’s the twist. A special Disney Parks Magic card with Sorcerer Mickey changes the game. When it’s played, “every player passes their entire hand to the left,” WDWNT said.
So yes, that great hand you were saving might end up with your little brother.
The game comes in a collectible tin for 2 to 10 players, ages 7 and up. It costs $19.99, and the listing says it’s colorblind accessible. The tin in Disney’s photos carries the Mattel Games logo.
What comes in the Disney Parks Deluxe Game Set?
Basically a game closet in one box. The $49.99 set includes chess, checkers, backgammon, 28 dominoes, a deck of cards and dice, according to Disney Store.
The chess pieces are sculpted as Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto and Chip ‘n Dale. The board flips over, with chess and checkers on one side and backgammon on the other.
The checkers and dominoes are wood, and the box closes with a magnet. It’s for ages 6 and up.
Has Disney sold Disney Parks Monopoly before?
Yes. A Disney Parks Monopoly showed up at the Emporium in Magic Kingdom in October 2019, also for $49.99, WDWNT reported at the time.
That version had a pop-up castle, a glass slipper token and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance as a property. The money was called “Wishes.”
The new one has a different item number on Disney Store and an updated list of rides. Disney Store tags it as new, but it isn’t the first Disney Parks Monopoly.
UNO has been around the parks, too. Inside the Magic spotted a Disney Parks UNO tin in April 2020 for $14.99, with the same pass-to-the-left Sorcerer Mickey card. So the new edition costs about $5 more.
Are these good Disney holiday gifts?
The timing sure lines up. Disney World’s holiday season runs Nov. 13 through Jan. 6, 2027, according to the Disney Parks Blog, and the gift shopping starts well before that.
The UNO tin is the easy stocking stuffer at $20. Monopoly and the Deluxe Game Set land in the $50 range with a lot of other Disney gifts.
One tip: a Monopoly game with a pop-up castle has a lot of little pieces. If it’s for younger kids, check that age 8 and up label before you wrap it.
