Disney Releases Interior Photos of The Beak and Barrel Coming to the Magic Kingdom
It is a week away from the opening of Disney’s new tavern The Beak and Barrel, coming to Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom. Today we finally have a look inside the coveted restaurant.
The Beak and Barrel will officially open on August 29, 2025. This new eatery is located next to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in Walt Disney World. Of course, it is Pirates of the Caribbean-themed.
Let’s take a look at the interior.
The Mess
The Mess is the first space inside the restaurant. This is modeled after a mess hall for Spanish soldiers before the crew “claimed and repurposed” it.
Guests seated here will share long tables similarly to the Biergarten in EPCOT’s Germany pavilion.
Some of the features include a ship’s bell rumored to be a gift from Captain Redd to Merry, the tavern’s founder. An old anchor covered in candles creates the chandelier and other wreckage also makes up the decor.
The Brig is also in this section, made to look like the prison had it’s door ripped off and has been repurposed into an eatery.
The Cursed Bar
Pirates are known for their drinking (among other things) and the bar at The Beak and Barrel will not disappoint. Guests can find the bar attached to The Mess area.
First of all, the bar is shaped like a skull, how cool is that?
Here is where you will find Rummy the parrot.
“Perched atop the bar, Rummy welcomes patrons and keeps an eye on the crew, quick with a story, joke, or song as he wobbles out from his main roost in the hollow of the skull’s eye.”
Another key prop is the “Enchanted Rum Bottle”.
“…an ornate bottle of grog, which sits in a place of honor in its own special cove. Gifted by a powerful enchantress, the tavern’s barrels and the pirates’ cheer will never run dry as long as the bottle stays full. Let’s hope ye won’t be left asking, “Why is the rum gone?”
Captains’ Quarters
The next part of the restaurant is the Captain’s Quarters.
Once the home of a Spanish Comandante, it has been transformed into the Pirate Captain’s personal retreat with a central fireplace and miniature ships in glass bottles that will “come alive” from time to time.
Captains’ Booths
Four large wooden booths are located in this area, each with artifacts from notorious pirates.
Yet another room will house a private sitting room “where pirates partake in their favorite games of skill and chance. Ye may spy the telltale signs of past matches … and perhaps a warning for any bandits thinkin’ of bending the rules.”
Mapmaker’s Room
Finally, we have the Mapmaker’s Room, which is filled with “rolled up maps, pieces of parchment, spilled ink and many treasured secrets that belonged to a (some may say) crazed pirate cartographer.”
Here guests can find a large mural with the map of the known pirating world on it.
Those who are lucky enough to have scored reservations will be admitted into this impressive location.
Remember there is a time limit of 45 minutes like Oga’s Cantina in Galaxy’s Edge. The more people that pass through the more coin Disney… I mean “the pirates” can acquire.
