Disney World added its first two November Good to Go Days for Annual Passholders, Sunday, Nov. 1, and Thursday, Nov. 5. No park pass reservation needed, but blockouts still apply.
Disney World Annual Passholders, you’ve got two easy days coming up. Disney added its first two November Good to Go Days: Sunday, Nov. 1, and Thursday, Nov. 5, Inside the Magic and Disney Dining reported Oct. 28.
On those days, eligible Passholders can visit any of the four theme parks without a park pass reservation. WDWMagic first reported the dates Oct. 27.
That Sunday date is the big one. More on that in a minute.
What is a Good to Go Day at Disney World?
It’s Disney’s name for a day when Annual Passholders can skip the park pass reservation system. Normally, Passholders need a reservation to get into a park.
On a Good to Go Day, you just show up with your pass. The dates cover Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.
Disney has used them all fall. Earlier Good to Go Days included Oct. 6 and Oct. 26 to 29, according to Inside the Magic.
Do Annual Pass blockout dates still apply?
Yes. “Good to Go Days do not eliminate Annual Pass blockout dates,” Inside the Magic noted.
So if your pass tier is blocked out on Nov. 1 or Nov. 5, you still can’t go. The cheaper passes, like the Pixie Dust Pass, have the most blockouts. Check your pass’s calendar in the My Disney Experience app before you head out.
Here’s the quick way to check:
Open the My Disney Experience app or Disney World’s website
Find the Admissions and Blockout Dates calendar
Pick your pass type and look at Nov. 1 and Nov. 5
If the date shows Good to Go, you can skip the reservation
Capacity limits still apply too. If a park fills up, Disney can stop letting people in, pass or no pass.
Why does Sunday, Nov. 1 matter for Magic Kingdom?
Because of the 2 p.m. rule. On most days, Passholders don’t need a reservation after 2 p.m., Kenny the Pirate explained in early October.
The exception is Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays. Weekends at Magic Kingdom still need a reservation all day.
Nov. 1 is a Sunday, so it’s one of the rare weekend days when Passholders can walk into Magic Kingdom with no reservation at all. For locals, that’s a nice Sunday option.
What happens to reservations I already made?
You keep them, and they stop counting against you. “Disney automatically removes reservations from its reservation limit calculations when a date becomes a Good to Go Day,” Inside the Magic wrote.
That means if you already booked Nov. 1 or Nov. 5, you just freed up a slot. You can use it for another day.
That matters most for Passholders who max out their reservations. Depending on the pass, you can only hold a certain number at once, so a freed-up slot is worth grabbing for a busier date later in the month.
Will there be more Good to Go Days in November?
Probably, but none are announced yet. For now, Nov. 2, 3 and 4 are regular reservation days.
Disney has been adding these dates a few at a time, often close to the day itself. Passholders who check the calendar every week or so tend to catch them.
Keep in mind November gets busy. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party starts Nov. 8 at Magic Kingdom, which closes the park early on party nights. Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios starts Nov. 7. Thanksgiving week is one of the most crowded weeks of the year.
So the first week of November is a sweet spot. The Halloween crowds are gone, the Christmas decorations start going up, and the big holiday rush hasn’t hit yet.
Which Annual Passholders qualify?
The reports say “eligible Annual Passholders” and don’t break it down by tier. We’d assume it covers every Disney World Annual Pass, minus whatever blockouts your pass already has.
To be safe, check the Admissions and Blockout Dates calendar on Disney World’s website or the app. If Nov. 1 shows open for your pass with no reservation needed, you’re good to go. That’s sort of the whole point of the name.
