Arribas Brothers' new red and green ornaments look like Disney cast member name tags. They're $19, plus $6.95 for every word you engrave, and you can pick the actual name tag font.
Always wanted a Disney World name tag without the whole job interview? There's an ornament for that now.
Arribas Brothers, the glass and crystal shop that's been on Main Street, U.S.A. since 1971, the year Magic Kingdom opened, has new Christmas ornaments designed like Disney cast member name tags, The DIS reported Wednesday, Nov. 4.
They cost $19 each. Personalization is $6.95 per engraved word. So one first name brings it to $25.95 before tax, and a first and last name makes it $32.90, by our math.
You can buy them at Crystal Arts on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom and at the Arribas Brothers shop in Disney Springs, according to The DIS. Arribas shared the first look itself. Disney hasn't announced them separately.
What do the Disney name tag ornaments look like?
They come in two holiday colors, The DIS said:
Red: Mickey and Minnie Mouse in Christmas outfits, surrounded by snowflakes and little Christmas trees.
Green: A golden Cinderella Castle at the top, with a group of Disney characters celebrating the holidays.
Both carry the Walt Disney World logo, with an open space in the middle for your engraving. That's where a cast member's name and hometown would go on the real thing.
The DIS didn't list a size, and it didn't say whether the ornaments are glass, metal or something else. We'd check before you plan to hang one on a skinny branch.
Can you get the real Disney name tag font?
Yes, and that's the whole point. Arribas offers two engraving styles, according to The DIS:
Script: A hand-engraved script style, for a more classic Christmas ornament look.
Name tag font: The same lettering Disney uses on cast member name tags.
Pick the second one and your name looks official. It won't help you give directions to the nearest restroom, though. Guests will still ask.
The real Walt Disney World name tags got a new look on May 16, 2023, WDWMagic reported. They use misty blues from the movie Cinderella, with a single gold star above Cinderella Castle. The ornaments go red and green instead, which makes sense. It's Christmas.
How much does it cost to personalize a Disney ornament?
Here's how the math works at $6.95 a word, before tax:
No engraving: $19
One word: $25.95
Two words: $32.90
Three words: $39.85
So "The Smith Family" costs more than "Smiths." Plan your wording accordingly.
For comparison, Disney Store's website sells a personalized Walt Disney World glass ball ornament made by Arribas for $25, with a $6.95 personalization option listed. That one fits up to 14 characters, etched in an Edwardian font.
And in 2024, Disney Springs sold holiday cast member name tag magnets for $14.99, with a name adding $5, WDWNT reported. The name tag look clearly sells.
Who are the Arribas Brothers?
Three brothers from La Coruna, Spain: Tomas, Alfonso and Manuel Arribas. Walt Disney saw their glass and crystal work at the 1964 New York World's Fair and invited them to Disneyland, according to the company.
They opened their first shop inside Sleeping Beauty Castle in 1967. Crystal Arts followed on Main Street, U.S.A. in 1971, Magic Kingdom's first year.
Today the company lists six spots at Disney World, including shops in the Germany and Mexico pavilions at EPCOT. Arribas says its stores hold live glassblowing demos every day, which beats staring at your phone while someone engraves your name.
When should you buy a personalized Disney ornament?
Sooner is better if it's a gift. The holiday season at Disney World ramps up this week, with Disney Jollywood Nights opening Saturday, Nov. 7, and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party starting Sunday, Nov. 8.
The DIS didn't say how long engraving takes or whether the ornaments are sold online. If you want one for a gift, ask at the counter before you pay.
And maybe keep it short. At $6.95 a word, brevity is the soul of savings.
