Holiday Sleigh Rides return to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort Dec. 1 to 30, skipping Dec. 24. A 25-minute ride costs $80 per sleigh, and reservations are open.
Walt Disney World doesn’t get snow, but it does have sleighs.
Holiday Sleigh Rides are back at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground for 2026. They run Dec. 1 to 30, with no rides on Dec. 24, and reservations are open now on Disney’s website.
The price is $80 per sleigh, the same as last year.
How much are the Fort Wilderness sleigh rides?
Disney lists the ride at $80 per sleigh. One sleigh holds up to four adults, or two adults and three small children.
That makes it about $20 a person if you fill it with four adults. For a family of five with little kids, it’s $16 each.
Check the total before you pay. Disney’s own page says both that tax is included and that it isn’t. In past years, the booking system has also shown the price as per person while you book a party of one, so read the screen carefully.
What do you get on a Disney World sleigh ride?
The ride lasts 25 minutes. It’s open to all ages, and it runs in rain and cold weather, so dress for whatever December throws at Central Florida.
Rides leave from the Tri-Circle-D Ranch barn near the Settlement Bus Depot at Fort Wilderness. Disney asks guests to check in 15 minutes before their ride time. The ranch is also home to the horses that pull the trolleys on Magic Kingdom’s Main Street, U.S.A.
Fort Wilderness campers are known for decking out their campsites with lights during the holidays, which makes the campground a fun place to see from a sleigh.
Guests who use wheelchairs must be able to step up into the sleigh.
How do you book Holiday Sleigh Rides at Fort Wilderness?
You can book online at Disney World’s website or in the My Disney Experience app up to 60 days ahead. Disney also offers limited same-day booking and walk-ups, but don’t count on those during the busiest weeks of December.
The cancellation policy is strict. You need to cancel at least 24 hours ahead, or you’ll pay the full price. No-shows pay the full price too.
How do you get to the sleigh rides?
Fort Wilderness is big, and the barn is deep inside the resort.
If you’re driving, park at the main entrance and take Fort Wilderness’s free internal bus to the Settlement Bus Depot. Disney suggests giving yourself 60 minutes to get there.
That sounds like a lot, but the internal buses loop through the campground and can take a while. Missing your slot means losing your $80.
Have sleigh ride prices gone up?
Not this year. The 2025 sleigh rides also cost $80 and ran on the same dates, Dec. 1 to 30 with Dec. 24 off.
The price has crept up over time, though. Back in 2021, the ride cost $75 per carriage, Laughing Place reported.
What else is happening at Disney World for the holidays?
The sleigh rides are one small piece of Disney World’s holiday season. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party runs on select nights at Magic Kingdom, and EPCOT’s Candlelight Processional returns for the holidays. If you want actual flakes in the air, Animal Kingdom’s new Santa’s Holiday Grove promises snow flurries.
The sleigh ride is one of the cheaper ways to feel festive at Disney World without a park ticket. You don’t need one to visit Fort Wilderness.
If you have a specific night in mind, book early, especially for the week before Christmas.
