Magic Kingdom’s Extended Evening Hours come back Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2027, from 9 to 11 p.m. for Deluxe and DVC guests after a fall pause for the holiday parties. Here’s who gets in.
Deluxe Resort guests, your late night at Magic Kingdom is coming back. Disney World’s Extended Evening Hours return to the park Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2027, from 9 to 11 p.m., WDWMagic reported Oct. 28.
The perk has been off at Magic Kingdom since Sept. 9.
That’s party season. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party close the park to day guests at 6 p.m. on party nights, which eats up the evenings.
Here’s a look at what Magic Kingdom’s after-hours feel like, from AllEars.net:
Who can use Magic Kingdom Extended Evening Hours?
Only some hotel guests get in. The two extra hours are for guests at Disney Deluxe Resorts, Deluxe Villa resorts (that’s the Disney Vacation Club hotels), the Swan, the Dolphin, the Swan Reserve and Shades of Green, per WDWMagic and Disney Tourist Blog.
Value and Moderate resort guests don’t get in. You also need a valid park ticket for that day plus a MagicBand, Key to the World card or MagicMobile pass. Cast Members check eligibility at each ride.
None of the reports mention a separate reservation. Disney World’s rules can change, though, so check the app before you go.
Is it every Wednesday in January 2027?
That part isn’t official yet.
Disney has posted park hours only through Jan. 7, 2027, so Jan. 6 is the only date on the calendar right now.
Disney Tourist Blog expects Magic Kingdom to keep the Wednesday slot from early January into late summer 2027. Disney hasn’t confirmed it. The next possible dates would be Jan. 13, 20 and 27.
WDWMagic’s calendar shows Magic Kingdom open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. that day, with Early Entry at 8:30 a.m. So Deluxe guests could, in theory, get 14 and a half hours in one park.
Early Entry is open to every Disney resort guest, not just Deluxe, so the morning half of that plan works at any Disney hotel. The late-night half is the Deluxe part. Bring good shoes.
New Year’s week runs a little longer. Magic Kingdom is scheduled to stay open until 10 p.m. from Jan. 1 to 3, then close at 9 p.m. from Jan. 4 to 7, per WDWMagic’s calendar.
What rides are open during Extended Evening Hours?
A lot of the big ones. WDWMagic lists Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, TRON Lightcycle / Run, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean and Peter Pan’s Flight.
Smaller rides run too, including “it’s a small world,” Dumbo, the Mad Tea Party, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Under the Sea. Some food spots and shops stay open.
The lines are the real prize. Only a slice of the resort crowd can stay, so wait times usually drop once the park clears out.
Where did Extended Evening Hours go this fall?
Other parks picked up the slack. Hollywood Studios hosted Wednesday nights from Sept. 16, according to Disney Tourist Blog.
Animal Kingdom got a few dates, including Oct. 20, and is expected to carry some holiday-season Wednesdays. EPCOT kept its usual Mondays.
The timing lines up. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party runs Nov. 8 to Dec. 22, and Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios wraps Jan. 5, 2027, per WDWMagic.
Magic Kingdom gets its night back the very next day.
Inside the Magic first reported in June that Magic Kingdom would lose the perk for the rest of 2026. Disney added one more Magic Kingdom night on Sept. 9 before the break.
What else is new for Disney World Deluxe guests?
There’s a dining update too. Nomad Lounge at Animal Kingdom started taking reservations Oct. 28 for dates beginning Nov. 8, WDWMagic reported.
It’s the first time the lounge has offered them. Walk-ups and the waitlist stick around.
Disney has already extended Extended Evening Hours through 2027, WDWMagic reported in April. So if you’re booking a January trip, a Deluxe stay just picked up a little more value. Or a lot, if TRON at 10:30 p.m. is your thing.
