Stitch, Spider-Man, Lightning McQueen, Grogu and Pua plush slap bracelets lead the past week’s new Disney World merch, along with a park icons polo, a floral Cinderella Castle hoodie and holiday lights gear.
Walt Disney World’s slap bracelets got an upgrade. Now they have plush characters riding on top.
Five new plush slap bracelets showed up at the Emporium in Magic Kingdom, WDW News Today reported Oct. 12. Each one is $19.99.
They’re the headliner in a busy few days for new Disney World merch, which also brought a park icons polo, a floral Cinderella Castle hoodie and a Christmas lights collection.
Which plush slap bracelets are at Disney World?
Five characters, each sitting on a themed band, according to WDW News Today:
Stitch rides a red-and-white flower surfboard.
Spider-Man hangs on a blue band covered in webs.
Lightning McQueen crosses the finish line on a race-track band.
Grogu sits on a gray band with the Mudhorn crest from The Mandalorian.
Pua, the little pig from Moana, hops along a band of grass and flowers.
The same five are also at World of Disney in Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort, for the same $19.99.
They weren’t on Disney Store’s website when we searched early Oct. 13, so for now, it’s a park pickup.
Can you buy Disney plush slap bracelets outside the parks?
Sort of. Hot Topic sells Cutie Cuff Disney Villains slap bands in blind boxes. They were listed at $10.90 on its website Oct. 13, though they showed as out of stock online.
You don’t get to pick your villain, though. The park versions let you choose your character, which is part of what you’re paying for.
How much were Disney’s other slap bracelets?
A lot less. Disney World’s fuzzy Chewbacca and Sulley slap bracelets cost $11.99 each in February 2026, WDW News Today reported.
Back in October 2023, fuzzy Stitch and Marie slap bracelets at the Emporium were $9.99, MickeyBlog reported.
So the new plush ones cost $8 more than February’s, or about 67% more, by our math. They’re double the 2023 price, plus a penny.
Who invented the slap bracelet?
Stuart Anders, a substitute teacher and coach from Wisconsin, Mental Floss reported.
He was fiddling with a self-rolling tape measure at his mother’s sewing table when he noticed it curled up with a flick of his wrist. He figured it would make a cool bracelet if someone covered the steel in fabric.
That became Slap Wraps, a 9-inch strip of stainless steel wrapped in fabric. They took off in the fall of 1990.
Main Street Toy Co. sold 1 million of them at $2.50 each in three months, according to Mental Floss. Knockoffs sold an estimated 10 million to 15 million more.
Why did schools ban slap bracelets?
Two reasons: the noise, and the cheap copies.
Kids slapping them on in class drove teachers up the wall. And some knockoffs had sharp edges and cheap fabric that could cut skin, Mental Floss reported. Some schools banned them, and Connecticut recalled the foreign-made knockoffs.
The plush Disney ones look a lot softer. We’ll take the thud over the thwack.
What’s on the Walt Disney World park icons polo?
A tiny all-over print of Disney World stuff. There’s Cinderella Castle, Spaceship Earth, Space Mountain, a teacup, Mickey’s shorts, ear hats, Goofy’s hat, churros, palm trees and what Disney calls pineapple swirls.
The Walt Disney World Polo Shirt for Adults is $59.99 on Disney Store’s website. WDW News Today found it at World of Disney in Disney Springs for $69.99.
That’s a $10 difference, so the website wins this one, at least before shipping.
Funny detail: Disney’s product description says the print includes “the Disneyland logo.” Disney’s own close-up photo shows the Walt Disney World logo instead.
Where can you buy the floral Cinderella Castle hoodie?
At Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs, WDW News Today reported Oct. 11. There are two pieces:
Cinderella Castle Pullover Sweatshirt: $59.99. It’s white with little blue bows all over and an embroidered pink-and-blue castle on the chest.
Floral castle zip-up hoodie: $69.99. It’s light pink with pink, white and yellow flowers, a pink ribbon drawstring and a castle patch on the chest.
Neither one was on Disney Store’s website when we checked.
What other new Disney World merch came out this past week?
A few more pieces turned up at Disney World from Oct. 9 to Oct. 11, all reported by WDW News Today:
Disney Holiday Lights Zip-Up Hoodie: $84.99 at the Emporium. It’s navy, with Mickey-shaped Christmas lights wrapped around the Walt Disney World logo.
Disney Holiday Lights Baseball Hat: $32.99, also at the Emporium
Marie Sweatshirt: $59.99 at the Emporium, with Marie from The Aristocats and a pink bow
Happily Ever After Sweatshirt: $59.99 at the Emporium, with Cinderella Castle inside a ruffled pink heart
Four Park Icons Hair Claw Clip: $17.99 at Gateway Gifts near the EPCOT entrance
What are some fun facts about Cinderella Castle?
It’s 189 feet tall, the tallest structure in Magic Kingdom, according to Disney.
There are no bricks. Disney’s fact sheet says “No bricks were used in the construction.”
There’s art inside. Five mosaic murals inside the castle are each 15 feet high and 10 feet wide. Six people spent more than two years making them, Disney says.
It opened with the park on Oct. 1, 1971, after about 18 months of construction.
Slap bracelets drove teachers nuts in 1990. Now they’re a $19.99 souvenir with Grogu on top, and nobody’s sending anyone to the principal’s office.
