The Headless Horseman and Hatbox Ghost buckets were sold only to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party guests. Now anyone at Magic Kingdom can grab one at the Hub carts, for the same $30 and $28.
Skipped Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year? Two of its exclusive popcorn buckets just came to you.
The Headless Horseman and Hatbox Ghost buckets, which were sold only during party hours this fall, are now available to daytime guests at Magic Kingdom, WDWNT reported Wednesday, Nov. 4. Look for them at the popcorn carts in the Hub near Cinderella Castle.
The prices didn't change. The light-up Headless Horseman costs $30, the same as on the party's opening night. The Hatbox Ghost costs $28. Each one comes filled with popcorn, and there's a limit of two of one bucket per person, per transaction.
A third bucket is at the same carts: the light-up Vampire Mickey, also $28. WDWNT grouped it with the party exclusives, but it never was one. Disney sold Vampire Mickey to daytime guests from the start, at carts across the park, WDWMagic reported in August.
The party ran on select nights from Aug. 7 to Oct. 31. WDWNT said the buckets moved to the daytime carts with the end of the party. It didn't say how many are left.
Which Halloween popcorn buckets can you buy at Magic Kingdom now?
Three, all at the Hub carts by the castle, according to WDWNT:
Headless Horseman ($30): The villain from The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad rides a rearing black horse with red eyes. His jack-o'-lantern head lights up, and the switch hides under his coat. The popcorn goes inside the horse.
Hatbox Ghost ($28): A blue hatbox with a clear window and a glowing teal ghost head inside. It has lights, sounds and a disappearing effect, so the ghost can show up or vanish on command.
Vampire Mickey ($28): The season's light-up daytime bucket. No party required, then or now.
CinemaBlend, which bought a Hatbox Ghost at the party in August, said it holds more popcorn than the Headless Horseman. The horse is prettier, though. Choose wisely.
Where are the Hub popcorn carts at Magic Kingdom?
At the end of Main Street, U.S.A., in front of Cinderella Castle. During the party, Disney sold the two exclusives only at the two snack carts near the castle, BlogMickey reported.
Disney had limited quantities each night during the party, WDWMagic said, and everything was sold while supplies last. WDWNT didn't say whether more stock is coming. If you want one, earlier in the day is your friend.
Have Disney party popcorn buckets gone daytime before?
Yes, and it's starting to look like a habit.
2024: The Nightmare Before Christmas Scary Teddy bucket debuted as a Halloween party exclusive in September. By mid-October, it was at the same Hub carts during the day for $26, WDWNT reported on Oct. 16, 2024.
2026: Last year's Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party exclusive, the light-up Christmas Tree Truck bucket, comes back Friday, Nov. 6, for daytime guests at Animal Kingdom, as we reported Wednesday. It was $29 at the 2025 party.
So "party exclusive" at Disney World sometimes means "party exclusive for a while." The 2024 teddy also shows how prices have climbed. Two years later, the cheapest of these buckets costs $2 more.
Is this the same Hatbox Ghost bucket Disneyland sold?
Same bucket, different rules. Disneyland Resort launched it on D23 Day, Aug. 13, for regular daytime guests. Magic Kingdom kept it locked behind a party ticket until now, WDWNT reported in August.
The ghost himself has a long history of vanishing. He appeared when Disneyland's Haunted Mansion opened in 1969, got pulled almost right away because the effect didn't work, and didn't return until 2015. Magic Kingdom's Haunted Mansion finally got its own Hatbox Ghost in November 2023, WDWMagic reported.
What popcorn buckets are coming to Disney World next?
The Christmas lineup, starting this week. A Toy Story Gingerbread House bucket arrives Friday, Nov. 6, at Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. A Holiday Train bucket follows Sunday, Nov. 8, but only for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party guests. Disney hasn't announced prices.
So the Hub carts are switching seasons soon. If you've wanted a headless guy on a horse for your shelf, this week is the time to go get one.
