EPCOT’s Rose & Crown Pub and Dining Room will both close Jan. 11, 2027, five weeks sooner than Disney first planned, and the pub is now part of it. Disney says both reopen later in 2027.
Disney has changed its plan for EPCOT’s British pub, and the new version is bigger. The Rose & Crown Pub and the Rose & Crown Dining Room in the United Kingdom pavilion will both close on Monday, Jan. 11, 2027.
The notice is now on Disney World’s pages for both spots. Disney says the closure is for “planned maintenance” and that both are expected to reopen “later in 2027.”
WDWMAGIC first spotted the change on Tuesday. Disney hasn’t said what work is being done.
What changed with the Rose & Crown closure at EPCOT?
Three things, all of them bigger than the original plan. When the closure first surfaced on Oct. 6, it was the dining room only, closing Feb. 15, 2027, “through early spring,” while the pub and the fish and chips window stayed open.
Here’s how the plan stands now:
It starts sooner. Jan. 11 instead of Feb. 15, about five weeks earlier.
The pub closes, too. That’s the bar side, open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., according to Disney.
The end date moved. “Early spring” turned into “later in 2027,” which is a much wider window.
Our Oct. 9 story covered the original, dining-room-only plan. This replaces it.
When will Rose & Crown reopen?
Disney won’t say beyond “later in 2027.” A building permit gives the first rough clue, though.
A Facility Asset Management Notice of Commencement for the Rose & Crown Pub was filed on Wednesday, Oct. 14, WDWMAGIC reported. It lists Gulfcoast Utility Constructors as the contractor, calls the job “general construction” and expires on June 9, 2027.
In Florida, a notice of commencement is the paperwork a property owner files before construction work starts, so this one mostly tells us the job is real and on the calendar.
That lines up with “later in 2027,” but a permit’s expiration date isn’t a promise. Work can wrap up before it, or run long and get extended.
Where can you get fish and chips at EPCOT during the refurb?
Right next door. The Yorkshire County Fish Shop, the UK pavilion’s walk-up window, isn’t mentioned in Disney’s closure notice, and WDWMAGIC says it’s expected to stay open.
It’s also the cheaper plate by a mile. Fish and chips at the Fish Shop went up to $15.49 on Oct. 6, while the dining room charged $32 for its version as of Oct. 1, according to WDWMAGIC’s menu tracker.
What you give up is table service and the pint. Pints of Guinness, Harp, Old Speckled Hen and Strongbow cider ran $12 each at the pub as of Oct. 1, WDWMAGIC reported.
Can you still eat at Rose & Crown before it closes?
Yes. The dining room serves dinner from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Disney lists it at its two-dollar-sign tier, $15 to $34.99 per adult. The menu leans on fish and chips, bangers and mash and cottage pie.
The Scotch egg appetizer was $17 as of Oct. 1, and dessert was sticky toffee pudding for $10 or Eton mess for $9, WDWMAGIC’s tracker showed. Over at the pub, a Snake Bite, half cider and half Harp, ran $12.75.
The last full day for both is Sunday, Jan. 10, 2027, a little less than three months out.
If you already have a dining reservation for Jan. 11 or later, check the My Disney Experience app. WDWMAGIC says Disney should update or cancel bookings affected by the closure.
How old is the Rose & Crown at EPCOT?
As old as the park. Rose & Crown opened with EPCOT on Oct. 1, 1982, which makes it one of the original World Showcase restaurants, and it just passed its 44th birthday.
Its patio sits right on World Showcase Lagoon, which is a big part of why people book it. The dining room last closed for a refurb in 2021, from Feb. 15 to March 20, while the pub stayed open.
This time the pub goes dark too, so anyone counting on a pint by the lagoon next winter will want to plan around Jan. 10.
