Disneyland’s 2026 handmade candy cane dates are set: 10 days at Disneyland Park and 10 at California Adventure, from Nov. 27 to Dec. 25. The parks now alternate days, and wristbands are a must.
Disneyland’s handmade candy canes are back, and the schedule just changed. The 2026 dates now give each park 10 days, with Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure trading off so they never sell on the same day, according to Mickey Visit, MickeyBlog and Laughing Place.
That’s 20 chances in all, from Friday, Nov. 27 to Christmas Day.
Laughing Place said the Disneyland Resort shared the details. We didn’t find a post on Disneyland’s own site, so double-check the app before you go.
What are the 2026 Disneyland candy cane dates?
At Disneyland Park, the candy canes are sold at Candy Palace and Candy Kitchen on Main Street, U.S.A., on these dates:
Nov. 27 and 30
Dec. 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23 and 25
At Disney California Adventure, they’re sold at Trolley Treats on Buena Vista Street on these dates:
Nov. 28 and 29
Dec. 1, 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22 and 24
What changed in the Disneyland candy cane schedule?
The Disneyland Park dates moved a little. Earlier versions of the schedule, reported by MousePlanet and MiceChat, put Disneyland Park on Dec. 22 and 24 instead of Dec. 21 and 23.
That would have made Dec. 22 and 24 double days, with candy canes in both parks. Now there’s no overlap. MousePlanet counted 18 total chances under the old schedule, and the new one has 20.
The California Adventure dates didn’t change.
How do I get a Disneyland handmade candy cane?
It takes some planning. You need a wristband, according to Mickey Visit, Laughing Place and MiceChat. Here’s how it works:
Get to the park before it opens on a candy cane day
Line up at the shop to get a wristband with a return time
Come back at your return time and line up again to buy
They’re not sold by mobile order, MiceChat said. And it’s one candy cane per person, per day, while supplies last.
This is the second year in a row for wristbands. In 2025, Disneyland dropped the mobile waitlist it had used since 2021, WDWNT reported at the time.
How much is a Disneyland candy cane?
Disneyland hasn’t posted a 2026 price yet. In 2024, a 5-ounce handmade candy cane cost $21.99, AllEars and Mickey Visit reported.
Mickey Visit said last year’s canes were around $24 and about 18 inches long. We couldn’t confirm that figure on our own, so expect something in that neighborhood.
There are no discounts, exchanges or refunds, Mickey Visit said. Annual Passholder discounts don’t apply.
Why are Disneyland candy canes such a big deal?
They’re made by hand, from scratch, in small batches. Candy makers pull the sugar in a room kept just under 100 degrees, and guests can watch through the shop windows, according to Mickey Visit. Some of the candy makers have been doing it for more than 36 years.
The tradition is more than 50 years old. With so few made each day, they sell out fast, which is why people line up before the gates open.
Can Magic Key holders get Disneyland candy canes?
On most dates, yes, if your pass isn’t blocked out. MousePlanet noted that most Magic Key passes are blocked out on Dec. 22, 24 and 25. That rules out the California Adventure dates on Dec. 22 and 24 and the Disneyland Park date on Christmas Day for a lot of Key holders.
When is the best day for Disneyland candy canes?
The weekdays in early December are probably your best bet. Thanksgiving weekend and the days around Christmas tend to be packed, and more people means a faster sellout.
Either way, plan to be at the gate early. The candy cane line isn’t the place to roll in at noon. Bring a friend if you want two, since it’s one per person.
