Good Neighbor Hotel and other off-site hotel shuttles are leaving the Harbor Boulevard stop for a new Downtown Disney area, so guests should plan a longer walk to the gates.
If you’re staying at a hotel across the street from Disneyland, your morning routine is about to change. The shuttle stop is moving.
Disneyland Resort’s construction and updates page now says Good Neighbor Hotel and third-party hotel shuttle drop-off “will soon move.” The new spot is “the new Downtown Disney District Shuttle Area near Lululemon in Downtown Disney.” Several Disney news sites, including WDW News Today, Inside the Magic and MickeyBlog, report that the switch takes effect Monday, Nov. 2. Disney’s own page just says “soon,” so check with your hotel’s front desk before you head out.
Where is the new Disneyland shuttle drop-off?
Right now, hotel shuttles use the South Harbor Boulevard stop near the Esplanade. That’s the open plaza between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. From there, it’s a short stroll to the gates.
The new spot sits on the west side of Downtown Drive, next to the Disneyland Hotel valet loop, according to WDW News Today. Inside the Magic and Disney Fanatic both report that Sunday, Nov. 1, is the last day at the old stop.
From the new area, guests walk through Downtown Disney to reach the parks. Laughing Place says the stop is farther from the entrance and tells guests to “leave extra time.” Nobody has timed the walk yet, but if you’ve strolled Downtown Disney end to end, you know it’s not nothing. Think several minutes, plus a stop or two for the smell of churros.
Why is Disneyland moving the hotel shuttles?
Blame the parking garage. Disney broke ground Aug. 24, 2026, on the Eastern Gateway, a new parking structure and transportation hub on the east side of Harbor Boulevard.
Reports on the project describe about 6,000 parking spaces, shuttle and rideshare areas, security screening and a pedestrian bridge over Harbor Boulevard that leads to a new arrival area at the Esplanade. Disney hasn’t announced an opening date.
In the meantime, crews are working in the eastern part of the Esplanade. Disney’s page warns that the work “may temporarily impact how Guests move through the theme park entrance area.” Ticket booths on the east side are coming out, and the east security screening area will shift into that space.
Disneyland Resort President Jill Estorino put it bluntly to Mickey Visit earlier this month: “It’s good, not great right now. And it’s going to be great and best in class when we’re finished.”
Are Toy Story parking lot shuttles moving too?
Disney says they’re staying put. Its page says the “Toy Story Lot shuttle drop-off will remain in the East Esplanade area,” shifting “slightly north and closer to Harbor Blvd.”
Some fan sites reported that Toy Story shuttles already use the new west-side area. We’re going with Disney’s wording. Laughing Place adds that Disneyland Resort’s own shuttle buses stay at the East Esplanade, at least for now.
Rideshare is a separate story. Disney says its Downtown Disney District rideshare area “was refreshed,” and pickup spots were shuffled nearby.
What are Good Neighbor Hotels at Disneyland?
Good Neighbor Hotels are off-site hotels near the resort that Disney vets and sells in vacation packages. Disney’s package page says there are “over 50 different hotels to choose from.” Many of them run their own free shuttles, and those are the buses this change hits.
It’s been a bumpy year for hotel transportation in Anaheim already. Anaheim Resort Transportation, the ART buses that looped hotels for years, shut down after March 31, 2026, because of money troubles, WDW News Today reported. OC Bus routes and hotel-run shuttles have been filling that gap.
Tips for the new Disneyland shuttle stop
A few easy moves can save your morning:
Ask your hotel which stop its shuttle is using on your travel dates.
Add 10 to 15 minutes to rope drop plans until you know the walk.
Line up tickets, park reservations and the Disneyland app before you leave the room.
If you need accessibility help, Disney says Accessibility Services are now at Ticket Booth 6 in the Esplanade.
The bright side? Walking through Downtown Disney at night means you pass every snack you skipped that morning. That’s either a perk or a trap, depending on your budget.
