Walt Disney Imagineering says the host station at the renovated Napa Rose is wrapped in Douglas fir salvaged from the 2020 Napa Valley fires. The restaurant has been back since Feb. 6, with a $188 tasting menu.
The first thing you walk up to at the new Napa Rose has a back story. Walt Disney Imagineering says the restaurant's host station is wrapped in Douglas fir salvaged from the 2020 Napa Valley fires.
Imagineering shared that and a handful of other design details in an Instagram post Nov. 6, WDW News Today reported. Napa Rose, the signature restaurant at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, reopened Feb. 6 after a renovation that kept it closed for most of 2025.
So this isn't a reopening. It's Imagineering showing its homework nine months later, and we're here for it.
Here's a look inside the renovated Napa Rose:
What new Napa Rose details did Imagineering reveal?
The host station: Douglas fir salvaged from the 2020 Napa Valley fires.
The bar: Inspired by the barrels and vats used to ferment and store wine.
The metal plates above: Patterns of grapes and the bubbles that rise during fermentation.
The chandelier: A grapevine design with illuminated "grapes" hanging on strings over diners. Creative director Katrina called it one of her favorite features.
The walls: Barrels with fog photography, plus framed "terroir" from vineyards across the valley.
Hidden Mickeys: Yes, there are some. MiceChat spotted a few tucked into the grape clusters back in February.
Imagineering also explained the name. Napa Rose refers to the rosebush at the end of a row of grapevines, which is thought to guard the vineyard.
Disney's February press release identified the project's creative director as Katrina Mosher of Walt Disney Imagineering. She described Napa Valley as "a place where history, nature and people beautifully converge."
When did Napa Rose reopen?
Feb. 6, 2026. The restaurant closed in April 2025, LAist reported, and stayed dark for the rest of the year. The comeback lined up with Napa Rose's 25th anniversary. It first opened in 2001.
Disney's press release described the new look as an updated take on California's Arts and Crafts style, built from warm woods, cork, stone and leather. There are towering wood columns with metal bands that nod to wine barrels, an arched ceiling framing a Napa Valley vineyard mural and a floor-to-ceiling wine wall at the entry.
Chef Andrew Sutton, who has been with Napa Rose since day one, said reopening it "feels deeply personal." He's now culinary director of signature dining at Disneyland Resort. Clint Chin is the executive chef.
How much does Napa Rose cost now?
The main dining room serves a four-course prix fixe menu for $188 per person before wine, LAist and WDWNT reported in February. Each course has several choices, and there's a kids' menu for ages 9 and under.
The Chef's Counter starts at $250 per person and seats up to 18 facing the exhibition kitchen, where chefs personalize each course.
The lounge is the cheaper way in. It takes walk-ins, serves a la carte small bites, and WDWNT listed classic cocktails at $18 to $20 in February.
Disneyland's current menu page lists dishes like American Wagyu N.Y. with grape mustardo, Wild Boar Agnolotti with persimmon and chestnuts, and Sorpresine Pasta with crab broth and uni butter. The menu changes regularly.
How do you book Napa Rose?
Book on Disneyland's website or in the Disneyland app. Main dining room and terrace reservations open up to 60 days ahead, Disney Parks Blog said, and limited same-day spots sometimes pop up. The lounge doesn't take reservations.
Hours: 5:30 to 9 p.m. nightly
Dress code: Smart casual or semi-formal
Cancellation: At least two days ahead for the dining room and terrace, or pay $188 per person. Chef's Counter needs seven days, or it's $250 per person.
Parking: Dining validates five free hours at the hotel
The wine list runs about 1,500 labels, overseen by wine director Patrick Kirchen.
Is Napa Rose going for a Michelin star?
That's the plan. General manager Jess Soman wants Napa Rose to earn one, LAist reported. He previously helped The Inn at Little Washington in Virginia earn three. Disneyland's dining page already lists a Forbes Four Star rating for 2025.
