Scat Cat’s Club at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter closes Oct. 6 for a refurbishment that runs into next year, taking both the café and the lounge offline.
Disney has not said what the work involves.

Where to get Port Orleans beignets during the closure
They move to the food court, which is a short walk.
Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory, the resort’s quick-service location, takes over beignet and coffee service for the duration.
That includes the Mickey-shaped beignets and the specialty coffee menu.
The seasonal Ghoulish Delight beignets, topped with cookies and cream and drizzled with marshmallow crème, will also be available there, though only through Nov. 1.
When the café reopens in December, beignets return to their usual home.
What replaces the lounge in the evenings
Disney is running a temporary bar.
It will operate near the café location nightly from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. while the lounge is closed.
The menu and drink selection have not been announced.
Will this affect your Port Orleans stay
Disney Tourist Blog does not think so, and the reasoning is practical.
The outlet said it expects no measurable impact on stays between October and December, noting that Sassagoula Floatworks has handled beignet demand before and has ample seating.
The work is confined to one small corner of the lobby, nowhere near guest rooms. The outlet said it would not consider switching resorts over it, particularly during a high-occupancy stretch when alternatives are already limited.
One theory floated: the refurbishment could be largely back of house, reconfiguring the kitchen to keep up with beignet demand.
What Scat Cat’s Club actually is
The venue has only existed in its current form since 2019.
It reopened Oct. 1, 2019 as a two-part space. The lounge and bar occupy what was once Bonfamille’s, a table-service restaurant. The café took over the original lounge and bar area.
Since then, the café has been the resort’s only source of beignets. Order them with a food court meal and you still collect them there.
They come in servings of three or six, with the three-piece counting as a snack on the Disney Dining Plan. Dipping sauces, ice cream sundae versions and alcoholic additions are available.
The other Port Orleans project
A second refurbishment is running at the sister resort.
The second phase of hard goods room work at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside covers the Alligator Bayou sections and runs until roughly August 2027.
French Quarter rooms and the Magnolia Bend section at Riverside were completed earlier, so those are finished.
What else is closing at Walt Disney World this fall
Several dates land near each other.
The Walt Disney World Railroad closes Sept. 28 through Oct. 29. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure closes Nov. 2 for its first refurbishment since opening, with a December return expected.
Typhoon Lagoon closes for its seasonal window on Sept. 9.
The Grandstand Spirits Pool Bar at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort closes for refurbishment beginning Sept. 18.
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort begins a phased room refurbishment in mid-June 2027 that runs through October 2028.
Why Port Orleans French Quarter matters
For a moderate resort, it carries unusual loyalty.
It is the smallest resort at Walt Disney World, themed to New Orleans’ French Quarter, with boat service to Disney Springs and a shared river with Riverside.
The beignets are a genuine draw. Plenty of guests book the resort specifically for them, and others make the trip from elsewhere on property.
Which is presumably why Disney moved them rather than pausing them.
