Disney Vacation Club members can book a three-night First Wave stay at Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge before it opens in 2027. Phones open Saturday at 10 a.m., and Disney warns of long waits.
Disney World’s newest resort doesn’t open until summer 2027. A small group of Disney Vacation Club members can get in a week early, and the race for those rooms starts by phone at 10 a.m. Eastern on Saturday, Nov. 7.
It’s called the First Wave Member Experience at Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge. It runs June 24 to 27, 2027, which is three nights before the resort’s July 1, 2027, opening.
Disney isn’t pretending this will be easy. Its booking page, per Disney Tourist Blog, says: “Due to the popularity of this Member-exclusive experience, you may experience longer-than-usual wait times.” So yes, bring snacks and a phone charger.
Want a look at where all this is happening? Here’s a recent aerial construction tour from bioreconstruct:
Who can book the Lakeshore Lodge First Wave stay?
You don’t have to own points at Lakeshore Lodge. The preview is open to any DVC member who qualifies for Membership Extras, according to Laughing Place, Resorts Gal and Disney Tourist Blog.
That’s the catch for a lot of owners. Membership Extras generally means you bought at least 150 Vacation Points straight from Disney, and points bought on the resale market don’t count.
A few more rules, per Disney Tourist Blog and Resorts Gal:
Booking is by phone only, through DVC Member Services.
Each membership can book up to two rooms.
The usual Rule of Four doesn’t apply here.
If it sells out, members can call to join a waitlist.
Disney Tourist Blog adds that phone lines run 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern on Saturday and reopen at 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 8.
What’s included in the Disney Lakeshore Lodge preview?
The package includes a lot more than a room, according to Disney Tourist Blog and Resorts Gal:
A three-day Park Hopper ticket for every guest age 3 and up.
Dinner at Moonglade, the resort’s new restaurant.
Breakfast at Pioneer Hall over at Fort Wilderness.
Dinner at the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue.
A $200 Disney Dining Promo Card for every guest age 3 and up.
Behind-the-scenes looks at the resort and keepsakes to take home.
Disney says a full itinerary will come later.
How many points does the First Wave stay cost?
It’s priced in DVC points for the first two guests in each room, and those two have to pay with points only. DVC’s official First Wave points chart lists prices from 184 points up to 532 points for the stay.
Resorts Gal matches those numbers to rooms. The Duo Studio is the cheapest at 184 points. A standard Deluxe Studio runs 196 to 216 points depending on the view, and the 3-Bedroom Grand Villa tops the list at 532.
Extra guests cost more on top of that. Per DVC’s chart, each added guest age 10 and up is 68 points or $1,349 in cash. Kids ages 3 to 9 are 50 points or $999. You can’t mix points and cash for the same person.
The usual $95 transaction fee is waived, per the chart. Full payment is due when you book.
What is Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge?
Lakeshore Lodge is a new Disney Vacation Club resort on the south shore of Bay Lake, near Fort Wilderness and a short boat ride from Magic Kingdom. Disney calls it nature-inspired, and the renderings lean hard into wetlands, cypress trees and a lagoon-style pool.
Disney Tourist Blog reports it will have 967 rooms and villas, including waterfront A-frame cabins. Laughing Place says it will have a lazy river and fireworks views.
The Disney Parks Blog says the lobby gets a glowing fiber-optic river inspired by Pocahontas, under a glass sculpture of hanging leaves called Colors of the Wind.
Can regular guests book Lakeshore Lodge?
Yes, just not this preview. Disney Tourist Blog says regular cash bookings opened to everyone on Oct. 8, for stays starting with the July 1, 2027, opening.
Is the Lakeshore Lodge preview worth the hold music?
That depends on how much you love being first. Three nights, park tickets, three meals and a dining card is a solid bundle.
If you’re eligible, have your membership number ready before 10 a.m. If the phone tree wins this round, the waitlist is still an option.
