Disney quietly pulled the Yacht Club's exterior-work notice from its website on Nov. 6, one day after the resort turned 36. The job was first supposed to be done by October 2025, and next door, Beach Club guests get another year of it.
Disney's Yacht Club Resort is finally out from behind the scaffolding.
Disney removed the resort's exterior-maintenance notice from its website on Friday, Nov. 6, BlogMickey reported. That's one day after the Yacht Club's 36th anniversary on Nov. 5. Guests had been living with scaffolding and construction walls for "the better part of two years," BlogMickey said.
WDW News Today reported the same day that all the scaffolding and construction walls around the buildings are gone. The gray siding and white trim are back, and so are the red-and-white striped awnings on some windows. WDWNT called the finish "apparent." Neither outlet cited a Disney announcement.
This one ran long. Disney first said the exterior work would wrap by October 2025, then stretched it to late 2026.
Next door, Disney's Beach Club Resort isn't done. Disney's website says the work there runs "through late 2027."
Here's a recent tour of Disney's Yacht and Beach Club:
What changed at Disney's Yacht Club?
Don't expect a makeover. The point was to bring back the gray-and-white look, not change it. The work involved removing and replacing siding, plus interior maintenance, according to WDWNT. BlogMickey reported crews were also replacing big sections of roof shingles back in April 2025.
Here's how it played out:
March 2025: Disney filed a permit for roof repairs and exterior work, BlogMickey reported.
August 2025: Disney extended the Yacht Club timeline to late 2026 and Beach Club to 2027.
February 2026: Scaffolding covered the side closest to the Swan and Dolphin, and WDWNT noted it was "not a simple paint job."
May 2026: The south wing was finished, and work moved toward the center of the building.
September 2026: With crews at the central building, the main lobby entrance was blocked and guests had to go around to the back, WDWNT reported.
October 2026: MickeyBlog said most of the scaffolding was down, as seen from across Crescent Lake.
Nov. 6, 2026: The website notice disappeared.
What's still happening at Disney's Beach Club?
Plenty. WDWNT said scaffolding is still up around parts of the resort, including at the far end of the building. White construction walls with aqua signs line one walkway.
There's a hopeful sign, though. Workers were spotted securing big piles of scaffolding for removal. BlogMickey reported roof work is still going.
Much of Beach Club's blue siding was stripped and replaced in February 2026, and the resort's porte cochere, the covered entrance, was finished in December 2025.
Disney's notice says the work "may impact views" and can require alternate paths around the resort. Guests may see or hear crews during the day. If you've booked Beach Club for 2027, maybe skip the balcony-coffee plans.
Is Stormalong Bay open?
Yes. The shared pool between the two resorts closed in January 2025 for a six-month refurbishment, WDWMagic reported, and it reopened in summer 2025, according to WDWNT. That's the sand-bottom pool, lazy river and the shipwreck slide.
Beach Club's quieter Tidal Pool got its own refresh this year. DVCNews reported in June that the work there was set to wrap up "at any time."
Are the Yacht Club restaurants open again?
Yes. Crew's Cup Lounge reopened May 10 after a refurbishment, Disney Tourist Blog reported. Yachtsman Steakhouse closed May 11 for a refresh, with dinner reservations starting Aug. 28.
BlogMickey said every lounge and restaurant at the Yacht Club is open again now.
What's next for the Yacht and Beach Club?
The Disney Skyliner. Disney's website lists two Skyliner closures for routine refurbishment that affect both resorts:
Jan. 24 to 30, 2027
Jan. 24 to Feb. 2, 2028
Disney says free bus service will run during both closures. The 2027 Skyliner closure ends months before Beach Club's listed finish in late 2027, so expect gondolas back before the last scaffold comes down.
