Elf on the Shelf’s animated preschool series Scout Elf Squad streams on Netflix starting Nov. 4, after The Lumistella Company signed a licensing deal with the streamer.
The Scout Elves are moving from the shelf to the screen.
The Lumistella Company, the creator of The Elf on the Shelf, has signed a licensing deal with Netflix for its animated preschool series Scout Elf Squad, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The series starts streaming on Netflix on Wednesday, Nov. 4, TheWrap reported.
What is Scout Elf Squad about?
Four young Scout Elves who team up after graduating from Scout Elf School. The elves explore, help others and learn about friendship, according to Elf on the Shelf.
When they face a problem, the team creates a “North Pole Power-Up“ to save the day. Each episode teaches lessons like kindness, courage and teamwork, with music mixed in.
Who are the Scout Elf Squad characters?
Frostina, Shiver, Snowdrop and Blizzard. Here’s how Elf on the Shelf describes them:
Frostina is the leader, who solves mysteries with her magical Detecto-Specs.
Shiver is the inventor, with a Magic Gadget Messenger Bag full of tools.
Snowdrop is the heart of the team, using her sparkly Zazzle-Wand to cheer others up.
Blizzard is the bold one, zooming around on his Blasto-board.
Is Scout Elf Squad a new show?
Not exactly. Scout Elf Squad first premiered on The Elf on the Shelf YouTube channel in November 2025, according to Animation World Network.
The Netflix deal brings the series to a much bigger audience. All episodes will also stay on the Elf on the Shelf YouTube channel, according to TheWrap.
How long are Scout Elf Squad episodes?
Short. Episodes run about 8 minutes each, and the first season has five episodes, according to TVmaze. That’s a good length for little viewers.
What did Lumistella say about the Netflix deal?
Chanda Bell, co-founder and co-CEO of The Lumistella Company, said Netflix gives the company “an extraordinary opportunity“ to introduce the four elves to families around the world.
Lumistella says the goal is to bring more Christmas stories to preschool audiences.
Is there Scout Elf Squad music?
Yes. The show has a companion album, Scout Elf Squad Sing & Play Nursery Rhymes, with music videos on the Elf on the Shelf YouTube channel.
The first single was “The Elves Went Over the Mountain,” according to Animation World Network.
What other Elf on the Shelf specials are on Netflix?
Several. Netflix first partnered with Lumistella in 2020 to stream its specials and develop new stories, Variety reported.
Elf on the Shelf specials on Netflix include Elf Pets: Santa’s Reindeer Rescue, Elf Pets: A Fox Cub’s Christmas Tale, Elf Pets: Santa’s St. Bernards Save Christmas and An Elf’s Story, according to Lumistella.
When did Elf on the Shelf start?
In 2005. Mother-daughter team Carol Aebersold and Chanda Bell wrote and self-published The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition, along with Bell’s twin sister, Christa Pitts.
The book comes with a Scout Elf that “watches” kids and reports back to Santa each night. Families move the elf to a new spot every morning, which has turned into a huge holiday tradition.
When do Elf on the Shelf elves arrive?
Many families welcome their Scout Elf right after Thanksgiving, which falls on Thursday, Nov. 26 this year. The elf typically heads back to the North Pole on Christmas Eve.
With Scout Elf Squad arriving on Netflix in early November, kids can meet the new elves before their own Scout Elf shows up.
