Walt Disney World is entering its most schedule-heavy stretch of the year, and almost none of it has been announced together.
Between now and late November, festival dates, fireworks times, shop closures, and refurbishments all shift. Several land within days of each other.
Here is what is actually changing.
What opens at Disney World this fall
Two major events are already running or about to start.
The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival opened on August 27 and runs through November 21, its 31st year. More than 30 Global Marketplaces, plus Cheers to Cheese! opening in CommuniCore Hall on September 18.
Eat to the Beat concerts run nightly at America Gardens Theatre through November 16, with showtimes at 5:30, 6:45, and 8 p.m.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has been running since August 7 and continues on select nights through October 31.
Nighttime show times are changing twice
The fireworks and Fantasmic schedules shift more than once this fall, which catches people out.
Fantasmic! moved to 8:30 p.m. at Hollywood Studios on August 23, with second performances at 10 p.m. on Fridays, Sundays, and Tuesdays. On September 18, that second show moves to 9:30 p.m.
The amphitheater opens as early as 90 minutes before showtime, so a 30-minute schedule change moves your whole evening.
Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom shifts from 10 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on August 31. On party nights, the fireworks are not part of regular admission.
What is closing at Disney World
One closure is permanent and it happens Monday.
The Oaxacan wood carving shop in EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion closes August 31. Everything is currently 50 percent off, and Disney has not announced a replacement. The rest of the pavilion, including Gran Fiesta Tour and San Angel Inn, is unaffected.
Grand Floridian Cafe closed in mid-July and is expected back in October.
Refurbishments running now
Several projects are underway across the resorts.
Kidani Village at Animal Kingdom Lodge has its lobby under phased refurbishment through early November.
Beach Club Villas lobby maintenance runs to mid-September, with construction activity between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Disney’s Beach Club Resort has exterior maintenance visible through late 2027, which may affect views and walking routes.
Sidewalk work along Big Pine Trail at Fort Wilderness continues through October.
What is coming in 2027
Several major projects got dates or details at D23 this month.
Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress reopens in late spring 2027 with Jamie Lee Curtis and Bryan Cranston voicing Mother and Father, plus what will be Disney World’s first Walt Disney animatronic.
Monstropolis opens in phases at Hollywood Studios starting 2027, though the door-vault coaster comes later. Tropical Americas opens at Animal Kingdom in 2027 with three attractions.
Villains Land and Piston Peak are both under construction at Magic Kingdom with no announced dates.
How to plan around all of it
A few practical rules for a fall trip.
Check the My Disney Experience app the morning you travel rather than a list published weeks earlier. Disney adjusts entertainment and refurbishment dates in both directions and rarely announces changes.
Dining reservations open 60 days ahead. Food and Wine booths do not require reservations, but table-service restaurants during festival season book out fast.
If a specific transportation method is why you picked a resort, confirm it separately from the resort’s own page.
And check the party calendar against the fireworks schedule before locking an evening at Magic Kingdom, since one cancels the other.
Nothing here closes a headliner attraction. It is the quieter category of disruption, the kind that adds twenty minutes to a morning you had planned tightly.
