Fandango's Bundle of Doom pairs a Doctor Doom statue popcorn bucket with one Avengers: Doomsday ticket for $79.99, and the bucket ships in November. AMC and Regal don't start selling theirs until Dec. 17.
You don't have to fight the preview-night concession line for a Doctor Doom popcorn bucket. You just have to pay Fandango.
Fandango's Bundle of Doom costs $79.99 plus shipping and includes one Doctor Doom Statue Bucket and one movie ticket to Avengers: Doomsday. The bucket ships to U.S. addresses starting in November, Fantasy Land News reported Wednesday, Nov. 4.
It's available to preorder now. Even a late-November delivery lands weeks before AMC, Regal and Harkins start selling their Doom collectibles in theaters on Dec. 17.
The ticket covers any format, including IMAX and Dolby. If you'd spend $20 to $25 on a premium seat anyway, the bucket works out to roughly $55 to $60 before shipping, Fantasy Land News figured.
Here's Marvel Entertainment's Avengers: Doomsday popcorn bucket video:
What's in Fandango's Bundle of Doom?
Doctor Doom Statue Bucket: Doom from the chest up with his arms crossed, in his green hood and silver armor with a chain across his shoulders, per Fantasy Land News. Popcorn goes in through an opening in the back of the hood and cape.
One Avengers: Doomsday ticket: a promo code good for any format at participating Fandango theaters in the U.S.
Popcorn: not included. Fandango says so twice.
Fandango promises "a towering piece inspired by the ruler of Latveria." It doesn't list the bucket's height, though.
Fandango's photos show Doom's eyes glowing green, but the listing never says the bucket lights up, Fantasy Land News noted. Don't count on a glow until someone has one in hand.
How do you order the Bundle of Doom?
It's on the Fandango FanStore. Before you click buy, know the rules:
You must be 18 or older to purchase.
Shipping is extra, and the bucket ships only to a physical U.S. address.
The ticket code arrives in a separate email and works only on Fandango.com or the Fandango app, not at the box office.
The code stops working once Avengers: Doomsday leaves theaters.
The offer is valid in the U.S. and D.C., not U.S. territories.
All sales are final. Fandango won't replace or refund buckets for minor cosmetic damage from shipping.
It's a limited-time offer, while supplies last. Fandango can also change or cancel it without notice.
How does Fandango's Doom bucket compare to AMC and Cinemark?
Fandango isn't the only place to get a Doom statue. Regal, AMC, Cinemark, Harkins and Marcus all carry a Doctor Doom statue bucket, Fantasy Land News has reported. Fandango's sounds like the same arms-crossed Doom.
AMC: sells its statue bucket in theaters starting Dec. 17, alongside a Sentinel head and a glowing team icon. We covered that lineup Nov. 2.
Cinemark: has an LED statue bucket that lights up, plus a light-up Doom cup. It was still "coming soon" when we covered it Oct. 31.
Regal: has its own statue bucket and a Doom's Throne container, both starting Dec. 17.
When we covered AMC's lineup on Nov. 2, none of those chains had announced bucket prices. Fandango's $79.99 is at least a real number.
The closest price check is Swan Drive-In in Blue Ridge, Georgia, which sells a Doctor Doom Giant LED Popcorn Bucket online for $79.95. Fantasy Land News' test order to Florida came to $108.50 with shipping, an $8 surcharge and tax. No movie ticket included.
So if you were going to see Doomsday anyway, Fandango's bundle looks like the better deal on paper, since the ticket is built in.
Has Fandango sold Avengers: Doomsday bundles before?
Yes. Back in July, Fandango offered an Infinity Vision Launch Bundle with an Infinity Vision ticket, a sweepstakes entry and two mystery collectibles. Its fine print spoiled one as "The Avengers Mask and Cloak Set," Cosmic Book News reported.
In October, Fandango's Street Fighter Collector's Pack cost $44.99 for a ticket, a tin and a lenticular, per Fantasy Land News.
What other Avengers: Doomsday tie-ins are out?
Dunkin': Doomsday drinks, doughnuts and collectibles hit stores Nov. 4, plus a new ad starring Channing Tatum as Gambit.
Jack in the Box: a Doomsday dipping box arrives Nov. 5.
KFC: a Doctor Doom menu starts Nov. 9 in more than 100 countries, but not the U.S.
Dave & Buster's: it's temporarily renaming itself Doom & Buster's starting Nov. 16.
Avengers: Doomsday opens in theaters Dec. 18. With Fandango, your Doom could be guarding the couch weeks before the movie arrives.
