The first-generation K-pop girl group is back for real. Lee Hyori, Ock Joo-hyun, Lee Jin and Sung Yu-ri are planning ongoing group activities for the first time since 2005.
One of K-pop’s original girl groups is getting back together, and this time it isn’t just for one song.
Fin.K.L will return as a full group, agency Gemstone E&M announced Monday, Sept. 21. All four members are on board: Lee Hyori, Ock Joo-hyun, Lee Jin and Sung Yu-ri.
It’s their first full-group comeback in about 21 years.
Is Fin.K.L really getting back together?
Yes, and the agency says it’s meant to last.
Gemstone E&M told the Korea JoongAng Daily the return is “more than a one-off reunion.” The agency called it “a new beginning” for the group to keep working under the Fin.K.L name.
It will handle planning with the members and their own management teams, per the Korea Herald.

There’s no album, concert or TV project announced yet. The agency told Soompi it will “sequentially unveil various activities” for fans who have waited a long time.
So for now, it’s a confirmed comeback with no dates attached. Fans will want to keep an eye on the members’ own social accounts for the first hints.
When was Fin.K.L’s last comeback?
Fin.K.L’s last official group release was the 2005 digital single “Forever Fin.K.L,” according to Soompi.
The members did team up again in 2019 on JTBC’s variety show “Camping Club,” and they released a song together for it. But that was a one-time reunion. The agency is being clear that this one is different.
