A new video from Rocket League shows a redesigned Fortnite launcher, and one of the tiles on it says Disney, WDW News Today and Chip and Company reported. It’s the clearest look yet at where Disney’s long-promised Fortnite universe might live.

Where did the Disney Fortnite tile show up?
In a video called “Rocket League | Unreal Engine 6 - Tested By The Pros,” posted on Rocket League’s official YouTube channel. Rocket League is made by Psyonix, which is owned by Epic Games.
The video is mostly about pro players testing the game on Epic’s next engine. But for a moment, it shows a new launcher screen, according to WDW News Today.
What does the new Fortnite launcher look like?
The launcher shows a row of big tiles, each one a different world or game. Based on reports from WDW News Today and Beebom, the tiles include:
Fortnite
Disney
Rocket League
LEGO Fortnite
Other collaborations
The Disney tile looks a lot like concept art Disney showed earlier, with bright colors, futuristic buildings, floating islands and a glowing city.
Epic hasn’t said whether this is the final design.
When is the Disney universe coming to Fortnite?
There’s no official date yet.
WDW News Today and Chip and Company both say it’s expected to line up with Unreal Engine 6 in 2027. But neither Disney nor Epic has confirmed that timing, so treat it as a best guess for now.
What Epic has said is that Unreal Engine 6 will hit early access at the end of 2027, with a full release 12 to 18 months later.
What is Rocket League’s move to Unreal Engine 6?
Epic announced in May that Rocket League would move to Unreal Engine 6. The update is planned for 2027, and some reports point to spring.
Epic said, as quoted by GamingBible, “These features are coming to Rocket League next year with its move to Unreal Engine 6.”
In other words, Rocket League is acting as an early test run for Epic’s next big engine, and the new launcher seems to be part of that.
What is the Disney and Epic Games deal?
In February 2024, Disney announced a $1.5 billion investment in Epic Games. The plan is a Disney universe connected to Fortnite, where fans can play, watch, shop and make their own games with Disney characters.
Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro said in May that “our collaboration with Epic Games is central to our efforts in this space,” GameSpot reported. Epic president Adam Sussman told TheWrap earlier this year, “The vision is unchanged, and we are excited by our progress.”
What Disney content is already in Fortnite?
Quite a bit. Fans have already seen Marvel seasons, Star Wars gear, Darth Vader with an AI-powered voice, The Simpsons and, just last week, Kingdom Hearts characters like Sora and Kairi.
In August, Disney also launched Star Wars: Smugglers Gambit, a Fortnite mission tied to the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride at Disney parks.
Is this Disney’s first try at a game world like this?
Not exactly. Back in 2013, Disney launched Disney Infinity, a toys-to-life game with a Toy Box mode where players could mix Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars characters and build their own games. Disney shut it down in 2016.
The Fortnite plan uses a lot of the same ideas, with no plastic figures this time. Now fans just need that tile to open.
