Disney’s yearly Frozen celebration runs through October 2026 with “The Night Before the Royal Fitting,” a new storybook-style short, plus new toys from LEGO, Mattel and more. Frozen 3 is due in November 2027.
Anna’s engaged. And the night before a big royal fitting, she and Elsa get one more sister night in Arendelle.
That’s the setup for “The Night Before the Royal Fitting,” a new animated short that kicked off Disney’s Frozen Fan Fest 2026. The short premiered Oct. 2, 2026, at 9 a.m. PT on the Disney Kids YouTube channel, per Laughing Place.
Fan Fest started Oct. 1 and runs through October, per Laughing Place.
Where can you watch the new Frozen short?
Right here, or on the Disney Kids YouTube channel. It’s free and runs about 5 1/2 minutes.
The short is part of Disney’s Off the Page Adventures series, which tells new stories in a storybook style. This one follows Anna after her engagement, as she and Elsa get ready for a special occasion, per the Disney Parks Blog.
Kristoff proposed to Anna at the end of Frozen 2 in 2019. So yes, fans have been waiting a while for anything wedding-adjacent.
The short had more than 600,000 views on YouTube by Oct. 4.
What is Frozen Fan Fest?
Disney’s yearly celebration of the Frozen movies. It usually brings a mix of new stories, toys, books and clothes, and it has been around for several years now.
This year it doubles as an early start to the countdown for Frozen 3.
What’s new in Frozen Fan Fest 2026 merch?
A lot. The highlights include:
Mattel: the Frozen Slumber Sister Set, with Anna and Elsa in nightgowns plus Olaf, inspired by the new short. It’s $42.99, per MiceChat. There’s also an Anna fashion doll with a wolf cub figure.
LEGO: Olaf and Bruni’s Picnic Fun, plus Elsa’s Ice Castle and Snow Ride Adventure
Disney Store: an Anna and Elsa Arendelle Castle micro play set and an Elsa costume for kids
JAKKS Pacific: a singing “Ice Powers” Elsa doll, at Target
American Girl: a Snow Queen Elsa doll and an Anna Cuddle and Care set with Bitty Baby
Adidas: Frozen-inspired cleats, out in October on Adidas.com and at select stores
Books: new Frozen Little Golden Books from Penguin Random House, and Moonlite’s Disney’s Frozen: A Royal Sleepover
Smaller extras include an Elsa Tonie, an Olaf shoulder-sitter plush from Just Play, and a Frozen karaoke microphone from eKids, per Laughing Place.
Is there Frozen Fan Fest merch at Disney parks?
Yes, at the two World of Frozen lands. Hong Kong Disneyland and Disneyland Paris both have Fan Fest items, per Chip and Co.
Hong Kong gets mini music boxes you can only buy at that park. Both parks have mini figurines, plus apparel, plush and drinkware. Each park also has its own postcards, which you can mail from mailboxes inside World of Frozen, per Chip and Co.
When does Frozen 3 come out?
Nov. 24, 2027, per ComingSoon. The Disney Parks Blog lists it as November 2027.
That’s about 13 months away. Disney is clearly using this Fan Fest to start the drumroll.
Disney executive Paul Gitter said back in February that the company planned to “kick off the countdown to Frozen 3 with a new short this October,” per ComingSoon. He also promised Disney’s biggest-ever cross-company marketing push for a movie in 2027.
Who is back for Frozen 3?
Jennifer Lee is directing, and the main voice cast is returning, per ComingSoon: Kristen Bell as Anna, Idina Menzel as Elsa, Jonathan Groff as Kristoff and Josh Gad as Olaf.
A Frozen 4 is also in the works, though Disney hasn’t given it a date.
Plot details for Frozen 3 are still under wraps. For now, the new short is the closest look fans have at where Anna’s story is headed. Five minutes of sister time, a big day coming up, and a lot of people reading into every frame.
