Girl Scouts announced Patch Pals, the first Girl Scout Cookie made for dogs! Another new cookie, Sparkables, is the first allergy-friendly cookie from the Girl Scouts of America. Both arrive January 12, 2027, but you will need to purchase them online.
Girl Scouts have been selling cookies since 1917.
Somehow none of them were officially for dogs until now.
Patch Pals joins the 2027 lineup as the first Girl Scout Cookie made for pets.
The new treat was announced Tuesday. The soft-baked treats are blueberry muffin-flavored and were developed with BARK, the company behind BarkBox.
The patch shapes actually mean something
Each one represents a piece of the Girl Scouting experience, per the organization’s own product page:
The Trefoil stands for Girl Scouts, with the tagline noting that if new friends are silver and old friends are gold, canine besties are “closer to diamonds in the ruff”
The Heart stands for Community, covering service work and adventures with pups along for the ride
The Compass stands for Exploration, with a nod to dogs being unmatched at sniffing out potential fun
The Ball stands for Play, framed around play as a way to meet people and learn about yourself
The other new cookie is allergy-friendly.
Sparkables are the first allergy-friendly cookie in Girl Scout history.
They are crunchy oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips and colorful sprinkles. Girl Scouts teamed up with Partake Foods for this gluten-free, nut-free, and vegan treat.
Sparkables are made in a facility that avoids all nine major food allergens to create a safer option.
For families who have spent decades watching cookie season happen around them, now you may have an option.
Girl Scouts said the cookie was created to give “families navigating the most common food allergies a way to feel more included during Girl Scout Cookie season.”
Girl Scouts asked for these
“Inspired by Girl Scouts around the country who have advocated for expanding the cookie lineup to meet the diverse needs of their communities. Patch Pals and Girl Scout Sparkables offer new ways for more girls, families and beloved pets to participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program,” the organization said in its announcement.
You cannot buy either one from a Scout directly
Both Patch Pals and Sparkables are available exclusively online for direct shipping, beginning January 12, 2027, when the national cookie season launches.
If you want either cookie, you order it, and it ships. No tracking down a scout troop to buy some.
Girl Scouts’ own product page notes that availability may begin sooner in areas where local cookie season starts earlier than the national date, so timing can vary by council.
To get notified, you can text COOKIES to 59618 or sign up through the Girl Scouts website.
What other cookies are in the 2027 lineup
Thankfully, the classics are not going anywhere.
Thin Mints, Samoas, and Tagalongs will all return for 2027 alongside the rest of the standard lineup.
Why cookie sales matter
The cookie program is the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world, and it funds troop activities, travel, and service projects at the local level.
Expanding the lineup into allergy-friendly and pet categories widens the customer base for the girls actually doing the selling. A household that has never bought a box because of a gluten allergy becomes a customer. So does the household that already buys four boxes and owns a dog.
As a former Girl Scout and Gold Award recipient, I love these treat ideas!
Good luck on your sales!
