This is a Jimmy Olsen spin-off series after James Gunn’s “Superman” film, framed as a mockumentary by Tony Yacenda and Dan Perrault. It has been approved for eight episodes.
The show is being filmed as if Jimmy Olsen were making a documentary about Gorilla Grodd after he was convicted of killing his father. Olsen is trying to determine if the villain was wrongfully convicted.
This would explain these shots that could be used as “backstory” for Grodd’s character and might only be brief flashbacks. Hopefully.
It is being filmed at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
Instead of using only CGI, they are going for a combination of practical and CGI effects, which means an actor in a Gorilla Grodd suit is filming scenes as if they were a college student.

It is concerning that James Gunn keeps making everything Guardians of the Galaxy, even when he isn’t directing.
