Hallmark's Pirates of the Caribbean Treasure Skeleton Ornament Is Raising Eyebrows
Disneyland just changed the animatronic and now they are offering an ornament based on the original
Disney has come under fire recently for its change to the popular “Treasure Skeleton” in Disneyland’s “Pirates of the Caribbean” attraction.
The new animatronic version with face-mapping technology has been poorly received by some fans.
Recently, when the figure broke down and was stuck in “B Mode,” fans celebrated that it was mostly returned to normal. Disney got it working again shortly after.
Vocalizations from the new animatronic are being compared to grunting, which is also not going over well.
Enter Hallmark with its new ornament based on the original version of the “Treasure Pirate”.
Thankfully, it is based on the original and plays the original sounds from that scene and not the new grunting that sounds like Scooby Doo.
It is $49.99 and will be released on July 11, 2026.

Plus it combines with the other two Pirates of the Caribbean ornaments to play different scenes from the film.

It’s just unfortunate that this came out right after Disney decided to make this controversial change.
