Universal’s scare-maze mascot Jack the Clown and Universal Studios Japan’s HamiKuma join Fortnitemares as skins on Oct. 5, 2026, with back bling and a pickaxe. It’s a return favor after Fortnite took over a Horror Nights scare zone.
Jack the Clown has spent 26 years scaring people at Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights. Now he gets to do it in Fortnite.
Epic Games is adding Jack and HamiKuma, a candy-stuffed bear from Universal Studios Japan, to Fortnite’s Item Shop on Oct. 5, 2026, per Inside Universal. The bundle comes with back bling and a pickaxe.
Both skins are part of Fortnitemares, Fortnite’s yearly Halloween event, which started Oct. 1.
Who is Jack the Clown from Halloween Horror Nights?
He’s the closest thing Horror Nights has to a mascot.
Jack debuted at Universal Orlando in 2000, per Inside Universal. Since then he’s come back again and again as one of the event’s best-known “icons.” His look is classic creepy clown: a blue, red and yellow suit and a wild shock of orange hair, which is how he looks in Fortnite too, per WDW News Today.
If you’ve been to Horror Nights in Orlando, you’ve probably seen his face on a T-shirt, a popcorn bucket or a very large sign.
What is HamiKuma?
A teddy bear who should not be hugged.
HamiKuma first appeared at Universal Studios Japan’s version of Halloween Horror Nights in 2022, per Inside Universal, and quickly became a fan favorite. In Fortnite, he’s brown, wears a plaid collar and a blue tie, and has multicolored candy spilling from his stomach and one eye popping out, per WDW News Today.
HamiKuma also returned to Universal parks around the world this year with meet-and-greets and live shows, per Inside Universal.
When can you get the Jack the Clown Fortnite skin?
Oct. 5, 2026, in the Fortnite Item Shop, per Inside Universal and WDW News Today.
Neither Epic nor Universal had posted V-Buck prices as of Oct. 1. Skins from big licensed collabs usually sell for about the same as Fortnite’s other premium outfits, but wait for the shop before you plan around a price.
Item Shop bundles also rotate out. If you want Jack, don’t wait too long after Oct. 5, since Epic doesn’t always say how long a collab stays in the shop.
The Fortnitemares cinematic trailer shows off the event’s horror lineup.
Why is Halloween Horror Nights in Fortnite?
It’s a two-way deal.
Fortnite was part of Halloween Horror Nights this year, with a Fortnitemares scare zone at both Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood, per Inside Universal. Now Horror Nights is returning the visit.
Michael Aiello of Universal Creative, a longtime Horror Nights creative lead, posted on X that his team spent most of the last year working with Epic Games to get Jack into the game the right way.
What else is in Fortnitemares 2026?
A big lineup of horror crossovers.
Fortnitemares 2026 includes skins and content tied to Five Nights at Freddy’s, Freddy Krueger, The Purge, Beetlejuice, Black Clover and Slender Man, per WDW News Today. The official trailer also hints at One Wish Willow from the 2026 horror film Obsession, which has its own house at Halloween Horror Nights in Hollywood this year.
Most theme park tie-ins stop at the gift shop. This one made it into one of the biggest games in the world.
Is Halloween Horror Nights 35 still running?
Yes. Halloween Horror Nights 35 at Universal Orlando runs on select nights through Nov. 1, 2026, per Inside Universal. It started Aug. 28.
Universal Studios Hollywood runs its own Horror Nights event on select nights, too.
So if you want to see Jack in person and then play as him the same week, October is your month. Just remember that the version at Universal Orlando can’t be bought with V-Bucks.
