The season runs August 21 through October 31, and it arrives with three things landing at once.
Haunted Mansion Holiday reopens today. Halloween Screams fireworks return tonight. Plaza de la Familia begins its run.
Haunted Mansion Holiday is open again
The overlay is back after its annual installation window.
Disneyland closed the Haunted Mansion in New Orleans Square on August 8 and kept it dark through August 20 while Imagineers converted it.
The overlay is inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, bringing Jack Skellington, Sally, and the residents of Halloween Town into the mansion. It blends Halloween and Christmas and stays up until the new year.
The conversion takes roughly two weeks each direction, which is why the ride disappears in August and again after the holidays.
What else runs during Halloween Time at Disneyland
The season stacks several separate things, and only some of them cost extra.
Halloween Screams fireworks run above Disneyland for the duration of the season, included with regular admission.
Plaza de la Familia at Disney California Adventure runs August 21 through November 2, celebrating Día de los Muertos with Coco-themed music, food, and storytelling.
Oogie Boogie Bash is the separately ticketed after-hours party, running select nights from August 18 through October 31. It is a record 33 nights this year, and it includes the new Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake street party.
Halloween decorations have already been appearing around California Adventure ahead of today.
