Salted Caramel Almond and Mint Chocolate Cookie are rolling out at select Food Lion, H-E-B and Hy-Vee stores for $5.99 a pint. A nationwide launch is planned for 2027.
Halo Top fans, check the freezer aisle. There’s something new in there for the first time in a while.
The light ice cream brand has added two new flavors, its first new pints in more than two years, Sporked reported Saturday, Oct. 17. Halo Top lists both on its website as a “new limited release,” with nationwide availability coming in 2027.
If you live near the right grocery store, you might be able to grab one now.
What are Halo Top’s new flavors?
There are two, according to Sporked:
Salted Caramel Almond: brown butter-flavored light ice cream with salted caramel swirls and praline almonds.
Mint Chocolate Cookie: mint light ice cream with fudge swirls and chunks of chocolate sandwich cookie.
Sporked’s take on the caramel one was simple: caramel plus nuts equals perfection. Hard to argue.
And no, neither one is Dubai chocolate, the pistachio candy bar craze. Sporked joked that it would’ve been incredible, but it’ll have to wait.
Sporked’s writer also admitted to not loving Halo Top at first. The brand has grown on them in recent years, thanks to new flavors and mix-ins.
The mint pint leans into the classic mint and chocolate combo. Halo Top already sells a Mint Chip pint, so think of this as the cookies-and-fudge upgrade.
Where can you buy the new Halo Top flavors?
Right now, only at select stores. The new pints are starting to roll out at some Food Lion, H-E-B and Hy-Vee locations, Sporked said.
That’s a pretty regional list. Food Lion is mostly in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, H-E-B is a Texas staple and Hy-Vee covers much of the Midwest.
If none of those are near you, you’ll likely have to wait. The flavors should show up in more stores in early 2027, according to Sporked, and Halo Top’s site says they’ll go nationwide that year.
The brand’s online store locator can help you check what’s in stock nearby.
How much do the new Halo Top pints cost?
$5.99 a pint, Sporked reported. Prices can vary by store and region.
Sporked called that “quite a steal” compared to other brands.
How many calories are in Halo Top’s new pints?
The new pints come in at 490 calories for the whole pint, Sporked said. Both cartons show that number right on the front.
That big, bold number is Halo Top’s whole thing. The brand says it put its calorie counts on the front from the start, back when most ice cream brands kept them on the back.
Halo Top says its pints have half the calories of other leading brands, plus mix-ins in every bite. It also says they have less sugar than other leading brands and calls them a good source of protein.
For comparison, Sporked noted that some other brands’ pints top 1,200 calories.
What other Halo Top flavors are there?
Plenty. The current pint lineup on Halo Top’s site runs more than 20 flavors deep. It includes Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Sea Salt Caramel, Peanut Butter Cup, Strawberry Cheesecake and Birthday Cake.
Several carry a “fan favorite” tag, including Cherry Chocolate Chunk, Cookies & Cream and Vanilla Bean.
With Sea Salt Caramel already a fan favorite, Salted Caramel Almond feels like a natural next step.
Who makes Halo Top?
Wells Enterprises, which Halo Top calls the largest family-owned ice cream maker in the U.S. The two joined forces in 2019, according to the brand.
Halo Top started in 2011 with the idea of a lighter ice cream that still tasted creamy, the company says. By 2017, it says, it had become the No. 1 selling pint of ice cream in America, and TIME named it one of the year’s top inventions.
The brand made its pints creamier in 2022, and in 2025 it added mix-ins to every bite, Halo Top said.
Is the new Halo Top a limited-time flavor?
Halo Top calls both pints a “new limited release” on its site. It hasn’t said how long they’ll stick around.
So if Salted Caramel Almond or Mint Chocolate Cookie turns out to be your new favorite, it might be smart to stock up when you spot it.
