Haribo is putting five single-flavor gummy bags in Dollar Tree starting Nov. 1, including strawberry fairies, blue raspberry bees and mango flamingos, Sporked reported.
If you’ve ever dug through a bag of Haribo just to find your favorite flavor, Haribo has a new deal for you.
Starting Nov. 1, Dollar Tree will carry five new Haribo gummy bags that each come in just one flavor, Sporked reported. Each flavor gets its own shape, too.
According to Sporked, the bags will be exclusive to Dollar Tree.
What are the new Haribo mono-flavor gummies?
Here are the five bags and their shapes:
Straw-fairies: strawberry, shaped like fairies
Blue Raspberr-Bees: raspberry, shaped like blue bees
Dragon’s-Fruit: dragon fruit punch, shaped like pink dragons
Fla-Mangos: mango, shaped like orange flamingos
Pear-akeets: pear, shaped like green birds
Whoever named these was having a very good day. Pear-akeets is the clear winner.
The idea is simple. Instead of a mix where you get one or two of the flavor you like, you get a whole bag of it.
How much are the Haribo bags at Dollar Tree?
Sporked didn’t list a price, and Haribo and Dollar Tree haven’t announced one.
For a rough idea, Dollar Tree already sells other Haribo bags for $1.25, its standard price. The chain raised that base price from $1 back in 2021.
Dollar Tree has also added more items at higher price points in recent years, so the new bags could land at $1.25 or above. Check the shelf tag.
Are the Haribo gummies only at Dollar Tree?
That’s what Sporked reported. Neither Haribo nor Dollar Tree has publicly confirmed the exclusive deal, so treat it as likely until they do.
For now, Dollar Tree is the place to look.
When do the new Haribo gummies come out?
The bags are due Nov. 1, the day after Halloween.
Not every Dollar Tree may have them on day one, so if your store is out, check back in a week or two.
Which Haribo mono-flavor should you try first?
That depends on what you usually hunt for in a mixed bag.
If you’re the person who eats all the red ones first, Straw-fairies is your bag. Blue raspberry fans finally get a full bag of Blue Raspberr-Bees. Fla-Mangos and Dragon’s-Fruit are the most tropical picks of the group.
Pear-akeets is the wild card. Pear isn’t a flavor you see much in gummy candy, which makes it the one we’d grab first out of curiosity.
How did Haribo get its name?
Haribo is a German company, and its name is a mash-up. It comes from the founder’s name and hometown: Hans Riegel of Bonn. Take the first two letters of each word, and you get HA-RI-BO.
Riegel started the company in 1920. Two years later, he created the gummy bear that turned into Haribo’s most famous candy, the Goldbears.
More than a century later, the bears are still the brand’s best-known product. These new shapes are a fun change of pace, especially for kids who’d rather eat a flamingo than a bear.
What other Haribo flavors are at Dollar Tree?
Dollar Tree has carried Haribo for a while. The Takeout and The Daily Meal have both spotted Haribo bags at Dollar Tree this year for $1.25, including Haribo’s bananas.
So if you can’t find the mono-flavor bags yet, the candy aisle should still have some Haribo to tide you over. Just don’t expect a bag full of only Pear-akeets until November.
