Funko's Hello Kitty and Friends space Pop! Mystery figures cost $14.99 a box, with a 1-in-72 chase and a Worldwide Chase that exists as exactly one figure.
Hello Kitty is going to space, and Funko is selling the tickets in mystery boxes.
Funko's new Pop! Mystery Hello Kitty (Space) collection puts Hello Kitty, Chococat, My Melody and Kuromi in space-themed looks, BSCKids reported Saturday, Nov. 7. Single boxes cost $14.99 on Funko.com, where they're up for pre-order with an estimated ship date of Nov. 30.
The big hook is the chase. A Limited Edition Mystery Chase turns up about once in 72 boxes. The Worldwide Chase is rarer still. There's only one in existence, BSCKids reported.
So somewhere out there, one box holds a figure nobody else on Earth can own. Fitting, for a space set.
Here's a look at Funko's Hello Kitty space figures:
Which Hello Kitty characters are in Funko's space set?
Six figures and four characters, Parade reported:
Hello Kitty
Chococat
My Melody
Kuromi
My Melody (Sitting)
Kuromi (Sitting)
Each figure stands about 4 inches tall and comes with its own Pop! card. The boxes are random, so duplicates can happen. Each of the six regular figures has the same 1-in-6 shot, according to BSCKids.
Neither BSCKids nor Parade described what the Mystery Chase or Worldwide Chase versions look like, so consider those a surprise inside the surprise.
How much are the Hello Kitty space Pop! Mystery figures?
Funko.com lists two ways to buy:
Single box: $14.99
Six-pack: $89.99
Our math: six singles cost $89.94, so the six-pack runs a nickel more. Funko's Pop! Mystery page doesn't say whether the six-pack guarantees one of each figure, so read the listing before you pay for convenience.
Chasing the 1-in-72 figure one box at a time averages out to 72 boxes, or $1,079.28. The Worldwide Chase can't be bought on purpose at any price. Well, not from Funko.
When can I buy the Hello Kitty space Pop! figures?
Pre-orders opened on Funko.com on Nov. 3, Parade reported. Funko's site lists an estimated ship date of Nov. 30 and tagged both the single box and six-pack "low stock" on Saturday.
A wider release is coming to stores that sell Funko Pop! figures, Parade said, but Funko hasn't announced a retail date. BSCKids also pointed shoppers to Amazon.
If Funko's estimate holds, pre-orders land about three and a half weeks before Christmas. That's enough time to wrap them, or to open six boxes yourself "just to check."
What else is in Funko's Pop! Mystery line?
Funko's Pop! Mystery page lists three other series right now:
Harry Potter: $14.99, or $89.99 for a six-pack, also estimated to ship Nov. 30
One Piece: $14.99, or $89.99 for a six-pack
KPop Demon Hunters: $14.99, or $89.99 for a six-pack
BSCKids covered the Harry Potter set the same day, so Nov. 30 could be a busy mail day for collectors.
What other Hello Kitty Funko items are out for the holidays?
If space isn't your thing, Funko's Hello Kitty page has a holiday shelf, too:
Pop! Hello Kitty (Festive): $14.99
Mystery Pocket Pop! Snowballs Hello Kitty: $4.99
Bitty Pop! Hello Kitty Countdown Calendar: $34.99
Sanrio Hello Kitty Holiday Light-Up Plush Mini Backpack: $90
Funko's site tagged most of its Hello Kitty items "low stock" Saturday. A countdown calendar that shows up on Dec. 10 is just a box, so order that one first.
Has Hello Kitty been to space with Funko before?
Yes. Funko released an exclusive Pop! Hello Kitty (Space), No. 42, in 2020, with a green helmet over her red bow, according to the POP's Today price guide. Two October 2026 eBay sales put it at about $15, so it hasn't exactly rocketed in value.
Sanrio introduced Hello Kitty in 1974. In the 52 years since, she's had more jobs than most of us. Astronaut fits right in.
