The first title from Sanrio Games features more than 145 Sanrio characters and over 45 mini-games, with Bandai Namco publishing. Preorders are open, and the date was set back in June.
Hello Kitty is getting a party game, and it lands October 29.
Hello Kitty Party Land releases for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on Thursday, October 29, 2026. Bandai Namco Entertainment publishes it.
It is the first-ever title from Sanrio Games, Sanrio’s own game brand, to reach consoles. Preorders are open now.
What’s in Hello Kitty Party Land
More than 145 Sanrio characters appear across the game, with 16 available as playable partner characters. That covers Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, Kuromi, Gudetama, and a long tail of others.
There are more than 45 original mini-games. Sanrio says every mini-game is built as a cooperative experience around the theme of everyone getting along, which is a design choice worth noting in a genre defined by making friends angry at each other.
Beyond mini-games, the title includes board game modes, character dress-up, sticker collecting, and fishing. Players create a custom avatar.
How many players can play Hello Kitty Party Land
Up to four, in local multiplayer.
It can also be played solo. Sanrio describes the controls as intuitive enough for newcomers while still working for experienced players.
The setting is a town populated by Sanrio characters, which the game uses as a hub connecting the modes.
The game changed its name before release
Reporting in April referred to the project as Sanrio Party Land. The final title is Hello Kitty Party Land, which leans on the character with the strongest recognition outside Japan.
At the time, at least one outlet speculated Sanrio might rename it for the U.S. market to emphasize Hello Kitty specifically. That is what happened, and the name is the same globally.
When Hello Kitty Party Land was actually announced
The October 29 release date was announced on June 9, 2026, by Bandai Namco and Sanrio simultaneously across Europe, America, and Japan. Preorders opened the same day.
The game itself was first revealed earlier in the spring during a Nintendo Direct.
What is genuinely current is the run-up. Ten weeks out, with a promotional video and an official website live, and Sanrio reportedly planning around ten new titles over the next three years.
The company built that ambition on Hello Kitty Island Adventure, the 2023 game that proved Sanrio characters could carry a modern release rather than just a licensing deal.
