Hong Kong Disneyland's A Disney Christmas now opens Nov. 17, three days ahead of the Nov. 20 start reported in September. World of Frozen adds its first Winter Market, and a new Mickey and Minnie castle show starts Nov. 19.
Hong Kong Disneyland is starting the holidays a little sooner than first reported. A Disney Christmas runs Nov. 17, 2026, to Jan. 3, 2027, the resort said in a Chinese-language press release dated Nov. 2.
In late September, TDR Explorer's season guide listed a Nov. 20 start. The new date tacks three days onto the front, and the Jan. 3 finish stayed put.
The headliner is new. Starting Nov. 19, Mickey and Minnie host a daytime Christmas party in front of the Castle of Magical Dreams, and a mischievous Stitch crashes it, the release says. There's no English title for the show yet.
World of Frozen gets its first Winter Market, with handmade gifts, holiday food and surprises. Arendelle also gets winter decor, falling snow and holiday music, and Anna and Elsa will be out in winter outfits.
Olaf is on the list for surprise appearances, too. That's how Hong Kong billed its self-walking robot Olaf when he started roaming World of Frozen in May. Kristoff also has a holiday surprise for Sven, which TDR Explorer called "Kristoff's Sven-Tastic Surprise."
Busy month for the snowman: Shanghai's new Olaf show also starts Nov. 19. We covered it Nov. 5 in "Shanghai Disneyland Winter Frostival adds new Olaf show Nov. 19."
Here's last year's A Holiday Wish-Come-True tree lighting at Hong Kong Disneyland:
What shows are part of A Disney Christmas 2026?
Four big ones, according to the Nov. 2 release:
New daytime castle show (from Nov. 19): Mickey and Minnie's Christmas party, with Stitch.
A Holiday Wish-Come-True Tree Lighting Ceremony: Santa Goofy leads it, with snow and drones. TDR Explorer noted the drones can be canceled for weather.
Disney Christmas Live in Concert: Nov. 21 to 22 and Dec. 5 to 6.
New Year's Eve Countdown: Dec. 31 at the castle.
Mickey and friends, Duffy and friends, Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and Winnie the Pooh and pals also greet guests in holiday outfits.
Who is in the Disney Christmas Live in Concert?
Mickey and Santa Goofy host. Mei from Turning Red, in full red panda form, and Isabela from Encanto make their concert debuts, the release says.
Two Hong Kong pianists split the weekends, and more than 100 members of the Hong Kong Children's Choir sing. The show adds water fountains, fireworks and projections on the castle.
Seats cost extra: a VIP pass with a food set, or a standard pass. Booking is open now on Hong Kong Disneyland's website, along with spots for the countdown. The release didn't list prices.
What happens at the New Year's Eve countdown?
A DJ spins Disney hits at the castle plaza, while Goofy, Max and a crew of dancers warm up the crowd. Mickey and friends come out for midnight.
Disney Premier Access buyers get priority on select rides, plus reserved viewing for the countdown and Momentous, the park's nighttime show.
What holiday food and merch is coming?
The Nov. 2 release didn't list holiday menus or merchandise, beyond the festive food at the Winter Market. Last year's first food preview landed Oct. 31, two weeks before opening day, Laughing Place reported.
Hong Kong outlet etnet listed 2025 treats including an Olaf soft serve for HK$70 (about $9), an Olaf hot chocolate for HK$55 (about $7) and a Mickey popcorn bucket for HK$320 (about $41).
Is there a Hong Kong Disneyland Christmas ticket deal?
Yes, if you live there. Hong Kong residents can buy a two-day ticket for HK$879 (about $113) per adult, good on any two days from Nov. 11, 2026, to March 31, 2027. It comes with food and drink coupons.
That's the same adult price as last year's version, etnet reported. The 2025 deal only covered visits through Jan. 31, 2026, so this one stretches two months longer.
Everyone else needs a regular ticket plus a park reservation, which the release says is required.
What comes after Christmas in World of Frozen?
Arendelle's first Winter Fest starts Jan. 5, 2027, two days after Christmas wraps. The release promises new story-driven Olaf encounters, music and surprises.
How does this year's season compare with 2025?
A little shorter. Last year's A Disney Christmas ran Nov. 14, 2025, to Jan. 4, 2026, which is 52 days by our count. This year's run is 48 days.
2025: Nov. 14 to Jan. 4
2026: Nov. 17 to Jan. 3
The Nov. 2 release doesn't mention the earlier Nov. 20 date or say why the start changed.
