The jazz club replacing Jellyrolls runs family games from 4 p.m., then goes 21-and-up at 9 with live bands until 1 a.m. Here’s the menu, the drinks and the made-up vaudeville backstory.
Jellyrolls is officially getting its replacement. Hurly-Burly, the new jazz club at Disney’s BoardWalk, opens to guests on Oct. 1, and WDW News Today got inside for a preview.
The short version: it’s two bars in one. From 4 p.m. it’s a family spot with trivia, bingo and sing-alongs. At 9 p.m. it flips to a 21-and-up live music venue and stays open until 1 a.m.
Jellyrolls, the dueling piano bar that sat in this space for almost 30 years, closed in spring 2025. WDWNT first reported the closure rumor in October 2024.
What’s the story behind Hurly-Burly at Disney’s BoardWalk?
A fake one, and a pretty good one.
Per Disney’s backstory, the Hurly-Burly Theatre was the BoardWalk’s vaudeville house, home to “ocean-themed acts” led by a headliner named Polly Delmar. When the theater shut down, the performers left their belongings behind. Nearly a hundred years later, the place is reopening “by the seaside, with entertainment offerings, vintage drinks, and lite bites.”
Framed artifacts from Delmar, the Siren Sisters and a performer called Prospero hang at the entrance. The room is dark green and gold, with a star-dotted green ceiling. WDWNT noticed the ceiling pattern’s seams don’t quite line up, which is the kind of thing you notice on a preview night.
There’s also a walk-up window outside for drinks, with a small bar to sit at and fans under the red awning.
What bands play at Hurly-Burly?
Five so far, per WDWNT: Sia and the Tin Pan, American Siren, Velvet Soul, Velvet Neon and a Top 40 band. Disney hasn’t posted an official schedule yet.
That’s a different lineup than Jellyrolls, which was built around two pianos and a request bucket. Hurly-Burly is going for a band on a stage.
What’s on the Hurly-Burly menu?
Small plates, mostly Italian-leaning, with one item that’s basically a movie theater in a bowl. Per WDWNT:
Meatballs in Tomato Gravy, $15, veal, pork and beef with stracciatella and toasted focaccia, plant-based version on request
Roast Beef Sliders, $17, with horseradish-mustard sour cream
Antipasto, $21, sliced meats, burrata and marinated vegetables
Tomato Pie, $11, focaccia with tomato sauce and pecorino, plant-based version on request
Oven-roasted Shrimp, $19, with sweet pepper-onion relish
Theater Concessions, $12, three meatballs, a sugar cookie and buttered popcorn
Mini Apple Cider Doughnuts, $11, with miso-caramel sauce
Mini Pretzels, $12, with bacon-cheese fondue
The Theater Concessions plate is the one to order once just to see it.
How much are drinks at Hurly-Burly?
Between $17 and $21 for cocktails, which is BoardWalk pricing.
The Mertini is $19, made with Plymouth Navy Strength gin, Dolin dry vermouth and orange bitters. The Cherry-Vodka Limeade is $17 with Tito’s and amarena cherry. Road to Fame is a $21 whiskey sour built on Michter’s rye and Laird’s applejack. The Caramel Corn Old Fashioned, also $21, puts actual caramel corn in a Woodford Reserve bourbon drink.
For the 4 p.m. crowd, there’s a $6.99 non-alcoholic Overture in Orange, a frozen Minute Maid orange juice treat with sweet cream on top. It’s a Creamsicle. They just can’t call it that.
Is Hurly-Burly the same as the old Jellyrolls?
Same room, different idea.
Jellyrolls was a 21-and-up piano bar from open to close, and it drew a loyal local crowd for decades. Hurly-Burly spends its first five hours as an all-ages hangout, then becomes something closer to what Jellyrolls was, with a stage instead of pianos.
It fills the biggest empty storefront on the BoardWalk, which has sat dark since Jellyrolls closed more than a year ago.
Doors open Thursday. Bring the kids at 4. Send them to bed by 9.
